Just as it says...
#42378
A Pit-bull decided he would battle a Porcupine in back of his house in Southern California .
But being both brave and stupid, he ultimately learned the hard way that he can't always win,
A vet sedated the dog, and then removed a total of 1,347 quills.
The dog survived, and hopefully learned a valuable lesson.......

No matter how tough you are...

Actually I believe it's called instinct and being one tough mofo! There was a similar story last week here in the US about a Rotty that had a similiar encounter.

I hope Karma eventually bite's you in the arse for hating 'man's best friend'!
When I was 5 years old I was attacked by "mans best friend" and had bite marks all over my arms. I've hated dogs ever since, and I always will.

Phobia = a disorder in which an irrational, intense, persistent fear of certain situations, activities, things, or persons can lead to great anxiety.

Rivelution (twice) stated that he hates dogs based on his past experience, which is quite different from phobia. I don't want to put words in his mouth, but he basically said he strongly dislikes dogs. Phobias can be overcome (possibly through therapy, treatment, etc.), dislikes probably not as he himself indicated.

Ouch, must be tough for you in Aussieland, with the highest ratio of venomous snakes!
