Well the FiA stewards has been trying their darnest to do their part. Nico cuts a chicane or three, that' not a problem it's really no advantage gained. Nico makes avoidable contact with someone and ends their race, it's just a racing incident. Just be warned, the next guy that does will be stiffly reprimanded and not only get a penalty but points on their superlicense!

:hehe:

How the last 5 races have altered the championship....

If Nico sits down and looks at these basic facts, how can he have any confidence...?

Confidence? He'll tell you he's still in charge. :hehe:

Such fun!

I kindof have a softspot for the Singaporean GP now....for being the karma leveller.

Just to add I have a feeling Mercedes is behind Hamilton now. Rosberg's lame apology after the race "Im sorry guys blablabla" I mean, if I were the boss I'd be thinking yeah ok you go ahead and do whatever the f you want and then conveniently apologize its not like its the first time.

Lauda's reply as well "Probably....kindof kindof" to the question "Is Hamilton unstoppable now?" sealed the sentiments in Merc for me.

Rosberg can't seem to beat Lewis fair and square, so parked at Monaco and took Lewis out at Spa.
The dodgy games have been obvious and desperate imo.

Anyway looking forward to Austin. Another track that Lewis likes. :D

Because things can change very quickly in F1. All it takes is a DNF for Hamilton and it swings back Rosbergs way.

And statistically it's Rosberg that's due one :D yeah I know. Just thought I'd point it out though.

Sad, Nico has been put in a position to be wishing for a Hamilton DNF in Abu Dhabi as the only hope to win a championship.

He must be the only guy....or gal...in the world who is in favour of the double points last race fiasco.

Actually, it was Rosberg who had one last in Singapore, so its Hamilton's turn next ;)

3 or 4 races ago with Hamilton 29 points behind it was the total opposite, Hamilton was the one needing double points to have a decent chance. Shows how quick it can turn.

Yes it was Rosberg who had the last one, he still has some catching up to do though.

And Lewis...I think there's only one way he wants to win this championship. :)

I know what I'm going to say might ruffle a few feathers but that's what this thread is all about. After viewing Nico's lockup about a dozen times inboard, and from Lewi's car as well as the race camera angle. It would appear to me that Nico got played.

It was being lulled into a sense of tunnel vision to follow Lewis, get the tow but find himself in a position where there was no way at all to make the turn without overcooking the tires.

It's not common in a race scenario for a driver to OPT for the outside line. Normally you want the inside then push your competitor wide giving him just enough room to be legal but not enough room to make the overtake and forcing them to pull up or go wide. The same thing Lewis did to Nico in Spa where Nico wound up "proving a point" and choosing not to go wide.

Well in this situation it was not the normal way to take the corner for Lewis and not only did he block the outside line but he carried less speed but just enough to be able to make his turn while Nico being on the inside and with the momentum of the tow, he would not be able to make his turn. Lewis clearly gave himself an exaggerated a buffer to easily counter with an over/under while avoiding Nico if he had to. Regardless he would have not broken his stride while Nico would have to hand the position back if he cut the turn or mess up his tires. Or both.

I'm not saying this way "intentional" but it's a case of spacial awareness and thinking like a racer and put your opponent in a position they can't defend. Say what you will, White Men Can't Jump and Nico got played by a playa.
