Im sure with a little financial backing they would be a great team to buy, remember last year they scored a few points and always hovered around the top 8. FIF1 have done it with the lowly spykers!

There aren't any manufacturers right now that seriously contemplate entering F1. And the private consortia that might want to get in back out because of the regulation change about customer cars - they don't have the facilities and/or money to develop their own chassis. Super Aguri doesn't have any infrastructure to speak of, it's only leased (rumor has it even their trucks belong to somebody else).

I think that, as long as the team improves, Mallya will keep Force India in the game. He can certainly afford it.

surely there are a few more budding billionairs looking to splash there money in F1? And im sure SA have plans for there own car, or even build from the chassis they have. Minardi used the same chassis for years and still got them on the grid... I miss them

I also think you should remember that Honda have pumped $100,000,000 into keeping Super Aguri barely breathing. It has not been said either way, but Honda could be wanting that back. Given that could nearly keep a smaller team running for a year, it's going put off a lot of buyers.

Its simple, $$$$$$$$ that's why no one is buying them. There are two type of owners in F1, the top teams like Ferrari, BMW, McLaren, Honda, Toyota etc.. are in it to win a Championship and to sale more cars, the bottom teams are usually run by some private millionairs that just want to have fun but fun does drain from your bank account.

now with manufacturers firmly in the sport the term privateer has become obsolete, F1 is all about technology now, and inheriting its technology into its sedans and hatches, F1 is looked to for answers to many problems with cars that we use in everyday life, making them safer, aerodynamic, and more importantly promotion.

private owners have nothing to gain apart from a cheap trophy for all the millions they pump into their team, its no investment, its money for nothing and what money your team gains doesnt pay itself off.

as much as manufacturers have made the sport dull and boring, they have more reason to be in F1 than anyone else.

its a matter of time until we see all teams take suit

I don't think it will happen, Forti_Corse, and manufacturers have no more reason to be in the sport than independents do - it's about competition and anyone can be competitive. Furthermore, I don't think that either McLaren nor Williams will be bought-out. They are successful enough to stay around, especially after the budget capping and their names, just like Ferrari, are of great importance to the sport.

I'd also like you to explain how you feel that independant teams are a bad investment. If they were, I can assure you that Frank Williams wouldn't be a wealthy man. He started out with absolutely nothing and look at him now, he's the most successful team owner and principal in the sport.

i see red bull staying in, its good sponsorship for them, with the budget cap it could become profitable for the manufactuers, but i dont know how much of a loss it is now, must be a loss surely,

i also think it will be all manufacturer in the near future, because as said, unless your a using the team as an advert then theres no financial benifit to you

i hope renault dont go to nissan, and nissan are renault i think more than renault are nissan
