I know Lewis locked up on one of the tight corners. But sky showed the two laps side by side and Lewis actually GAINED on that corner. Apart from that and just a couple of slightly missed apex, he was clean.

Yeah, Hamilton had a surprisingly costly wobble out of spoon and the last corner, which of course he's not going to do every lap, so it wasn't a
basic lack of speed in relation to Nico. He also talked about quali/race setups, so maybe he's gone the latter.

The lockup into the hairpin he did a lot, so it must have been some sort of line/camber decision knowing it wasn't going to flatspot or lose time,
because a lot of drivers were taking the wider line and missing the apex. Bit of a gamble on such sensitive tyres though.

It's interesting that even with more and more of his 'aids' being taken away, Nico is still up there. He's put Singapore behind him well too,
which is what he said he did even during that race, but saying it is one thing... He looked rightly happy, and with good long runs in FP he
must be confident.

I was slightly surprised by the Williams because it's a relatively high downforce circuit, but they like those tyres, and must have had some good upgrades.
Well placed to snaffle up Merc issues. Alonso showed again the Ferrari isn't a bad car. He could sneak a podium.

I still couldn't call the race, if we even have proper racing. Bit annoying, it's one of the few races I get to watch at a civilised time.

Hope you're right Myown!

The problem is we have that Whiting guy making the decisions. According to Alex Yoong if it was down to the Japanese officials, this will be a normal race start.

But Whiting has made a joke of conditions which are not even as treacherous as this one.

Jens has just said it should start behind a safety car because if spray.

It probably will be a SC start; F1 has become a big brother / nanny state sort of sport; back in the day, they would have gone racing in a full on monsoon, anyone remember the monsoon tyres?

So it is starting behind a safety car.
Let's hope the car doesn't stay out endlessly!

Special monsoon tyres? Even more wet than wets?

All too well. I hate the way the sport has become so dumbed down when there's water on track....cant' stand that Charlie guy. High time he stepped down already, he's screwing up potentially great races in prospect with his conservative old man attitude.

Just seen the the comparison between Hamilton and Rosberg's laps. Lewis was actually slightly ahead before it all started to go awry at Spoon.
