That's not a nice thing to say about Kimi. I agree though, nice start and nice sustain would have been nice to see Red up on the podium, it's been too long but between the lack of power, the tire management everyone was doing and the close confines of the circuit, there's wasn't going to be much in the way of overtaking.

Ferrari loses legal battle with engineer

Ferrari has lost a legal battle with a disgruntled F1 engineer. For 2012, Briton Steve Clark joined the fabled Maranello team from Mercedes, where he was a highly respected senior technical advisor. It was reported at the time that Clark’s new role would be in charge of Ferrari’s race engineers.

But Italy’s specialist Autosprint and La Gazzetta dello Sport separately report that Clark was subsequently ‘demoted’ to a role in Ferrari’s non-F1 projects, including working on the Italian olympic team’s bobsled design.

Clark reportedly sued the team in the local Modena courts, arguing that the demotion to a role outside of F1 caused “serious harm to his career”. The judge reportedly agreed, declaring that his ‘demotion’ was contrary to his contract. The reports say Ferrari has been ordered to reinstate Clark in his contracted F1 role or an equivalent, which could result in a departure settlement for the 48-year-old Briton.

TJ13 comment: An interesting article which demonstrates the dictatorial vision of the ex-President of Ferrari – Montezemolo. Clark was hired by Pat Fry and Stefano Domenicali to bring his expertise to Ferrari and was moved in the endless games of politics played out in Maranello.

As Costa explained earlier this year, every person recruited – and every decision on investment made – had to pass by Il Padrino – he refused to delegate authority. It will be interesting to see if the new regime empowers its people or disables them because simply – ‘We are Ferrari’

Of perhaps more pertinence is that once upon a time the power in Maranello was greater than the law – effectively. How times have changed..

Yes, I seem to remeber a few posts earlier about Ferraris 'older' style of management and how several staff had been rotated in and then out on the basis of non performance related edicts, with several rotated back in later, and indeed some rotated in and out and in again according to the 'dynamic' team manifesto

I think Brynne might be the record - in from Benetton, out with Brawn, in with Fry, sidelined for Allinson, and in again to 'consult' the 2015 car? Kimi was only in, then out then in and maybe out. Oh well its always good to have passion

Congratulations to Ferrari for getting a 4X WDC to drive for them in 2015! On paper this team looks strong as hell...5 Championships worth of experience in both cars.

So thinking about it, Ferrari have kept Kimi, the slower Ferrari driver this year and have employed Vettel, the slower of the 2 Red Bull drivers this year whilst getting rid of arguably the current best F1 driver on the grid. Yeah that makes sense

Anyway wonder what the thoughts of the tifosi in Italy think about it with Alonso out and Vettel in.

I have been thinking about this for the last few days, and as it turns out what has been announced over night just strengthens it.

The new hierarchy at Ferrari, are not racers, they have looked at the books and said "The guy we have at the moment, has won 2 world championships. almost 10 years ago. he has not done much since, and we pay him how much!"

Now they must of had a look around and said "Oh look this lad has won the last 4 championship, he must be good! Lets ask him if he wants a Ferrari rental car for next year"

Theres a slim chance that Ron could get revenge on behalf of all long suffering Mclaren fans everywhere and hang Alonso out to dry, maybe ask him to repay some of the fine (I wish) or just leave him without a seat and sign RoGro instead. That would be poetic justice and Ron could risk the wraith of Honda

Well I can officially admit to you that Ron has apparently said Alonso hasn't signed with McLaren yet, HOWEVER he has admit that he is welcoming him with open arms, which isn't a shock to be honest
