Yeah. It was the only way I could get hold of those two seasons. Each one has I think one ITV-covered race. The rest is from Australia. I thought the coverage from 9 was pretty good, considering most of the races weren't really covered live. I think the '97 season, which is next on my list, is all ITV and then 2000 will be ITV as well.

Yes ITV's coverage is really starting to p*** me off now. It's s****. They miss out everything.

Their adverts are getting longer and longer too, they even missed the restart after the second safety car period. Saying it is disgraceful is perhaps the biggest understatement of all time.

I noticed that. Do you think they're getting longer cos theyre pIssed off that they are loosing it? It did seem worse than it has been yesterday.

They wanted rid off Formula One, for they weren't getting enough money from advertising revenue at some of the more obscure Grands Prix times. Saying as they don't have to worry about losing the rights, they are going to produce as low quality coverage as possible with a view to saving money on the actual coverage and also getting money through advertising revenue. Scum.

To be perfectly honest, you can't blame them. They're a company, their first concern is making a profit. If they don't see something as profitable, they aren't going to stick with it. Seeing as they have no fear of losing the coverage for the rest of this year, they can shift focus from providing good coverage to maximising their revenue before the end of the season. It's a good move from a business point of view.

If any of you brits have the SPEED channel, I would watch it form there. They have pretty good coverage during the race, and the commentators are cool too.

Yes I've heard that Speed is good but dont they have even more adverts than ITV?

The big plus with BBC is no adverts, so you dont have to wait until the ads have finished to see if Massa has spun off again, or Mark Webber broken down or D.C. been involved in another prang.! Trouble is though you have to make a good decision as to when to go for a pee!

on average british programmes have more adverts shown even though the frequency is not as high as American TV. Pee breaks are easy for me i just reuse the bottle from which i have been drinking during the race :roll:

I like that 8 Ball recycling to a tee (or is it a pee !) The only thing is though, I suppose that you have to finish the drink before you can pee? -or not as the case may be :( The mind boggles - perpetual recycling

It's not that bad during F1 coverage. Plus, they are very considerate, i.e., if something interesting is happening and you can already hear the sound that announces the commercial break, they stop and continue showing what's happening.
