- 29 Apr 08, 12:50#41775Red Bull actually have a big budget as it stands, but if the budget caps come in to play next year, then it really will level the playing field somewhat. Renault won their two titles on much less money than Ferrari and McLaren, and Williams have always had less cash to throw around. If all teams could only spend so much, it would make things more competitive (because solutions would have to be innovative and effective, since teams couldn't just throw money at every little problem) and also improve the chances of independent constructors like Williams and, more importantly at this moment in time, Super Aguri, surviving in the sport.
To be honest, though, Webber is a bit like Fisichella in that he tends to put bad cars in places higher up than they should be. He has earned a drive in a front-running team, but his luck is quite like that of Johnny Herbert and so if you look solely at statistics, there are 'better' options for teams.
