It's nice to see Mark getting some solid results. Not sure if Red Bull can make it to the top flight, what do you think is his best chance of advancement?

Still with Red Bull or move to someone like BMW?

He's been hinting he'd like a seat at BMW in his recent BBC articles...

big shake up in the regs next season i wouldnt be moving anywhere you never know the pecking order with this big a shakeup.

The teams with the cash have the resources to cope with reg changes better, I'm thinking a move to BMW would be better for him long term. As much as I like Adrian Newey I can't see Red Bull challenging Ferrari or McLaren.

I like Webber but his time frame of landing a top ride is slipping he is on the wrong side of 30 now

Red Bull actually have a big budget as it stands, but if the budget caps come in to play next year, then it really will level the playing field somewhat. Renault won their two titles on much less money than Ferrari and McLaren, and Williams have always had less cash to throw around. If all teams could only spend so much, it would make things more competitive (because solutions would have to be innovative and effective, since teams couldn't just throw money at every little problem) and also improve the chances of independent constructors like Williams and, more importantly at this moment in time, Super Aguri, surviving in the sport.

To be honest, though, Webber is a bit like Fisichella in that he tends to put bad cars in places higher up than they should be. He has earned a drive in a front-running team, but his luck is quite like that of Johnny Herbert and so if you look solely at statistics, there are 'better' options for teams.

Yeah, if he wants to leave his 'Mark' on F1 he needs a couple of WC's under his belt, needs to make the move very soon. Having said that, physically he's fairly fit so he could go into his late 30's, if he's still hungry...

The highest Webber has flown has been Williams, every time he was in a good spot his engine blew or something went wrong with the car.

I'm not sure if it's him, the cars he's been in or just plain rotten luck...

I'd say it's mostly the cars. He was with Minardi to begin with, and they've never been good with reliability. He joined Williams in a period where their reliability wasn't so good and then we all know the problems he's had with Red Bull last year. That car was the worst in terms of reliability. I'm happy that this one is strong in that area and it's finally showing what we would have seen last year in the results - Webber is much better than DC at the moment. If they could get it to go a bit faster, like last year's car, then they'd have a good package and would be able to take fourth place in the WCC quite easily.

DC is an enigma to me. When Hakkinnen was strong DC was always the bridesmaid. I've always thought of DC as a good number 2, never an X-Factor driver.

I'd like to think Mark is an X-Factor driver, hoping this season he has a reliable car and his profile can rise a little. Would like to see him with a top team. Would like it even more if Red Bull does this season what BMW did last season, as a Schumacher supporter you have no choice but to respect and grow to like Adrian Newey, for so long it was Newey vs Schuey...
