This should be interesting.

Brings up an unrelated point though... if they FiA can make decisions like this and just implement them without the usual "we'd have to put it out for teams to vote" crap. Why can't they do the same for the moronic double points race?

Yep, drivers playing yes/no guessing games at 200mph, should make for some interesting exchanges

What's the penalty for breaking the radio rules?

To me the thinking behind this is even more stupid than thinking they could implement the team orders rule.

Penalty: the engineer and driver both get duct taped over their mouths for the next race.

How does the on board delta time thing work? could a team tell the driver to switch to another delta so that they could control the drivers pace that way?

Sent using NCC-1701

I don't see a problem with the team radio apart from "Can you let so and so past". As an F1 Driver, you're supposed to be in a sport where you're wanting to be as fast as possible

Because this is Bernie's territory not the FIA's. He who pays the piper calls the tune.

Engineer to Raikkonen: "We are racing Button, we need two tenths [of a second] per lap."
Raikkonen: "Give me more power then!"

The issue originally was that the radio was not pleasing fans; stop broadcasting the radio instead of making rule changes in the middle of the freaking season! F1 is really becoming a joke!
