In this one I have to break from the Familtons and say in the Lewis V Nico battle of the hair cuts, I'm backing blondie.

Just to clarify on Hamilton "ignoring team orders" he didnt. His engineer thought it was best if he saved his tyres until the last 5 laps and tried to attack Rosberg at the end, but Hamilton understanding his tyres from the first stint felt that he wouldnt have the grip regardless and would lose out in the dirty air so thought it best to attack straight away. Hamilton didnt ignore a team order, his strategists gave him ADVICE on the best thing to do, but at the end of the day the decision is his on what to do. I have been critical of Hamilton recently but today he was perfect from turn 2 onwards.

I am basing this on negative media, questionable behaviour, documented arrogance, Disqualifications from races for CHEATING - audiences turning off in droves due to his arrogance and the race fixes and Reubens crying on the podium etc. I conclude that MS was responsible for certain crowd stopping to watch F1 due to the qualities mentioned above

Lewis on the other hand has brought more brand new fans into F1 just because he started racing

So there you have it, I am basing this on facts,

You're not really supplying facts though. It's all very vague. What certain crowd are you talking about? And which audience
turned off in droves? The early one, the late one - when exactly? He had a long career, esp at Ferrari, much of it was very
exciting, with thrilling battles for the championship? Did this have people turning away?

He pulled a long list of needlessly daft sh!t, he had a dark side, but he was clearly the driver of his generation, and turned,
along with Brawn and Todt, a flagging Ferrari, F1's flagship team, into a powerhouse.

Ferrari's popularity was immense, and although he was a divisive character, so was Schumacher's. They were hand in glove.
I've never seen anything come close to the sea of red crowds at races I attended and watched on TV. Their ultimate
domination was not unlike RBs, mainly because the other teams couldn't mount a sustainable challenge, and in the end it
got too dull and predictable because with no strong teammate challenge (which was ridiculous, I know) there was nobody
to challenge him. That was ten years in the making though.

But yeah people turned off, and not once turned on just to watch MS, simply because he was arrogant and he cheated,
and he didn't make your underpants sparkle like Lewis does.

well done, why didnt you just admit that and save the psychobable, so you admit MS turned people off, and you must also admit that brand new viewers were attracted to F1 when Lewis started leading to the much remarked upon spike - the Lewis effect

So why couldnt you just admit this in the first place instead of the ridiculous diversion into audience trends and declining numbers and the causes

Its not rocket science - MS caused people to turn away from F1 and Lewis actually brought in fresh meat - now repeat that to yourself a 100 times before you sleep

talking about butthurt, did you enjoy the race, its did not go unnoticed that the sagi show and the roth show were both off air on terrestrial tv today - and that there was a run on vaseline stocks :hehe:

Speaking of lackluster, Vettel kept up his very consistent season today. What do you think happened there? I think we should give him a few more races to turn the year around. You're always welcomed in this thread Ross to discuss how your underpants don't sparkle any more.

If you ignore the previous ten years though it makes your point ridiculously lopsided. It's not really even a point it's just a statement with no context.
