I'd be more inclined to say Williams are the greatest F1 team of all time, given what they have achieved, how they have achieved it and the relative amount of time it has taken to do so. But maybe that's just me.

AKR, the word 'lamb' is not used to imply that someone has no idea about the sport or their team, but that they would blindly follow their team wherever they went, under any circumstances, whether right or wrong, not caring how they won, just that they did.

Great news about Heiki.
That He survived with minor injuries is testament to the way the car is designed/ built. Rally and F1 car construction should be studied more by road car manufacturers to make road cars safer.
Mind you the image of a little old lady going shopping in her Toyota Prius with a built in roll cage, a full face helmet and HANS device would be interesting!!

well i am 20 as well and i don't act like a juvenile. And as i am a recently out of the closet Ferrari fan i am probably the only one that doesn't!

No doubt that is true but Hanwombat's comment's are just as juvenile. IMHO she is just another lamb who jumped on the bandwagon because Lewis is British and had such a great first season and she realize's/accept's NOTHING about F1 in general other than her British pride.

there is nothing wrong with getting into F1 because of lewis. I would have never got into the sport if there wasn't such a big fuss made about damon hill when he won the title. Just because she is a Mclaren fan because of lewis doesn't make her any less of a fan. What about those so called Ferrari fans who only like them because they were winning everything.

Well excuse me, I didn't just 'jump' onto the bandwagon 'cos there is a british driver, wowies. I have supported Mclaren for over 10 years, never liked Ferrari, especially in the MS days, got it was such a twat at times. Also like Renault, when they were Benetton. I first really liked Mclaren when Mika drove for them, as he was my most favoured driver.
I may not be a fan of ferrari but I respect them, and I actually really like Felipe, just a genuine nice guy who is fast but sometimes unlucky

So you have followed F1 since you were 10. Nice. I have followed it since I was 6. To all those who have insulted me and called me a lamb, you should all be ashmed of yourselves. I am a tifosa and I will act like one. It does not make me a lamb as I am an expert on the subject of F1 and Ferrari as I am sure most of you are as well. (At least on the F1 side of things if not Ferrari). If I want to act like I am on fire then I have the right to do so. I do this with football and basically both F1 and football are highly passionate sports and I do not see why I should be different with F1 than with football. I am a highly passionate person. I am Slovenian-Italian for God sake so what do you expect me to take crap and be all quiet? No way that is ever going to happen.

And although I am passionate I am also compassionate. I am so glad that Heikki is ok. Just hope he never wins a race though.

Glad he is ok though... and the crash was really scary, looking at the rescue team's struggle to get him out was not a pleasant sight. But as Lewis said in the press conference: he saw a red car in the wall and thought it was a Ferrari... I saw a Mclaren on the wall and thought it was Lewis. Go figure

To be honest, I thought it was a Force India to begin with. Their car, from a distance, can look McLaren-esque due to the Kingfisher logo on the rear wing.

looking past your prejudice against Ron where did he say it was a tyre failure? all the reports i read and heard from McLaren was that it was 99.9 percent certain it was a rim failure causing delamination , no where did it say tyre malfunction was the cause.

According to Ron Dennis, a "loose stone" may have been culpable, with the McLaren team boss suggesting, "Something has come between the wheel and suspension."

Bridgestone have denied any wrong doing in Heikki Kovalainen's 140mph shunt in Barcelona, saying it was not caused by a tyre failure.

The McLaren driver crashed heavily into a tyre wall at Turn Nine on Lap 22 after his left front tyre suddenly disintegrated at high speed.

Bridgestone, though, reckon that it was not a problem with the tyre that caused it to deflate.

"We do not believe that there was a tyre failure," said Hirohide Hamashima, Bridgestone's motorsport director.

"As is normal, we are now conducting a thorough investigation with the team and we are happy Kovalainen appears to have not sustained any visible injuries."

Bridgestone's claims have been backed up by McLaren team boss Ron Dennis, who claims it was a wheel-rim failure that caused Kovalainen's shunt.

"As far as we can tell the wheel-rim failed, which is a very unusual occurrence," said Dennis. "It only had 14km on it, so it was a brand new wheel effectively.

"We have to analyse the components and find out specifically what happened, but at the moment we are 99.9% certain a wheel failed.

"The tyre deflation could have been due to a piece of the rim flying off or a clipping from some of the carbon fibre. That's as accurate as we can be at this stage."

“As far as we can tell, because we’ve now got the parts – a wheel failed,” the Englishman said. “A very unusual occurrence. It had only had 14km on it, so it was a brand new wheel so we have to analyse the components to find out. But at the moment, it’s 99.9 per cent certain the wheel failed.”

Not once in that entire article does Ron say the word 'tyre' or 'Bridgestone'. I think that, like yourself, the writer of the article has assumed that tyre and wheel are the same, when they are not so.
