I think Ricciardo is the best racer in the field.

He hasn't quite earned that title yet, but what the heck, I'll jump on that band-wagon :hehe:

I kind of understand why K Mag was given a penalty this time around. A lot of cars squeezed past there with no incident or pushing off the track apart from the Jenson/Perez incident which was marginal. When you consider Bottas was in a markedly faster car he should've just been a bit more compliant like Massa did with Lewis.

He didn't deserve it at all and half the drivers and teams have already came out and backed Magnnuson because it was not deserved, he raced fair and couldn't of done anything even if he wanted to.

What a poor race from the Mercedes pair. The 'battle' between these two is the only real story there is this season and when we expect to see some good racing all we get is choking, Hamilton with his poor start from pole and Rosberg apparently unable to turn in at the chicane. Too many mistakes with these two, it is starting to remind me of 2008 when the racing at the front was also lacking.

Luckily though we have Bottas and Ricciardo! Wow what a show they put on today. Bottas made a nice go of getting up the grid (twice) after having his start ruined by Hamilton and Ricciardo was brilliant at the end passing at will, beautiful passes. Ricciardo imo is the best racer in F1 right now. If only these two were fighting for the championship.

Hopefully Rosberg and Ham can put on a decent show in the last six races.

What the hell were you watching.... Lewis had a start mode problem, not his fault at all and actually did rather well considering. Only losing 2 places with that much of a deficit in power is impressive.

Too many mistakes? wut? Lewis, Bottas and Ricciardo were by far the top 3 drivers today.

Hamilton's poor start wasn't his fault from what I understand. his ers or something was muddled up according to his engineer.

Too much wheel spin, Hamilton just didn't get the power down.

lmao, you've got to be kidding... His car had no ERS which means on the start it's incredibly hard to get the power down and you have to take some wheel spin and damge your tyres a bit to get the engine upto speed otherwise you'll be overtaken by 6-7 cars.

Another decent race. It would've been even better had Rosberg and Hamilton locked horns properly, but it was still an exciting Grand Prix.

I love Monza in the sunshine, and it was great to see the crowds of fans flooding onto the track afterwards, with all their passion and noise, even though the tifosi don't have as much to cheer about this year.

Good show

Ok so Lewis choked at the start because of his lack of ers, yet Bottas dropping to 8th was part of a master strategy to impress us

Ricciardo came from 9th to 5th and is therefore the best racer in F1

If only those 2 were fighting for the championship we would have seen Bharain each race

You forgot to mention Seb :yikes:

If the rumour is true that there will be 8 three car teams next year Mercedes should pick up Ricciardo. The way they are driving right now he would the #1 with two #3 drivers in support!

Seb had a pretty good race, he ran out of tires at the end but only Ricciardo got past. Not so bad overall but he must be pissed to have not been on the best strategy.

What a poor race from the Mercedes pair.

If there wasn't a race today, it was because Nico couldn't handle the heat.

Ricciardo is indeed a good racer but has not yet proved himself as Hamilton has. Bottas also very good, but has made plenty of little errors

To be fair, he hasn't made the little error of running up the middle of the rear of cars ahead of him, especially ones that are stationary at red lights :hehe:

Ricciardo is having a banner year. Would love to see him racing under pressure of actually competing for a title, that makes or breaks people. It's certainly breaking Rosberg at the moment.

Ricciardo and Bottas are the next generation of great drivers to lead F1 after Hamilton and Alonso retire.

You are correct with your first highlighted observation - its good to be able to see beyond one team

The third is also a fair observation

Ruined by the second which is pretty dumb considering it was in a rookie year - thats why they are called rookie years, and in light of your third observation reeks of either a bad attempt at humour or a sad attempt at trolling

(and thats giving you the benefit of doubt by not saying a sad attempt at humour and a bad attempt at trolling :hehe: )

Congratulations to Nico for serving his punishment of letting Lewis one. Sadly he had to cut the chicane twice to let him through because Lewis was not fast enough to take advantage of it the 1st time.

interesting idea

But why would Nico choose to cut the chicane when he had Lewis AND another driver both able to take advantage??

Do you mean Nico is not that smart at all :yikes:

Anthony Davidson laughed at that idea, I too think it's a ridiculous idea. Hamilton would have been very downbeat about a victory like that and would not have wanted that at all.

Ant Davidson reads my posts?

Why are you talking about running up the middle of cars ahead? What's that got to do with anything? Overboost said Bottas and Ricciardo were the best drivers and Hamilton and Rosberg make too many errors. I was replying to that comment, pointing out that Bottas has made errors......whilst not being in the heat of a championship battle. Yes all drivers make errors but apparantly overboost think it's restricted to Hamilton and Rosberg, and you're going on , I presume, about an incident from, what, seven years ago?

You gotta wonder who they are pandering to when they make these jokes, do they seriously think any serious F1 fan is enough of a blind h8ter to not consider that Massa would have benefitted from the first chicane slip as he was in front AND that it would have been easier to give Nico a delay of 2 seconds in the pit to eliminate the risk of him actually crashing in the chicane ( a guy deliberately running off track is not possible to enforce or regulate or avoid risk of dnfs)

Let's be honest guys, we come here for the sparring. No one in their right mind would read a forum just to have people be cordially pleasant to one another. Imagine if we had beer.
