Yes as predicted Ferrari did the job. I'm happy with Hamilton getting a podium, great start and race for him, I don't think the McLaren is as close to the Ferrari as the results show, still very happy for Lewis.

Jenson got a great result, and it was really nice to see Honda finish with some points.

The main thing is that Heikki is ok. It was a really scary crash and I feared for him. Hopefully we will get the news he will be racing in the next race.

I was a bit ticked off that Heidfeld got that stop and go penalty. I reiously think they should change that idiotic safety car rule. But I'm happy with the place Robert came in, wish it was a podium, but still great result nevertheless. I really didnt like what Ron Dennis said about Robert. Peter Windsor asked Ron what he thought about Robert losing 6 kilos, and his response was "I think they would lose more if they fixed his nose."

As for Renault it was a bummer for both Piquet, and Alonso. But they showed great progress compared to the start of the season.

Webber did a great Job coming home in 5th, but Coulthard looked like he slowed down quite a bit when Timo hit him. The race officials are looking into that too.

Hopefully Super Aguri gets a sponsor, but it was great to see Sato up there in the points for a while.

Ferrari dominated as we all expected. The only difference was that instead of it being a complete massacre as I feared it was only a pretty bad tanking. McLaren came back into it in the middle and end of the race and safety car periods also helped to take the bad look of things. Overall, I think McLaren are around about half a second slower than Ferrari and are just shading BMW. There is a lot to think about in Woking. One half of the problem is that, McLaren have two inexperienced drivers and are sill living with the fallout of "spygate", so big things weren't to be expected. To improve the other half of the problem, what needs to happen are some tweaks to the rear of the car and for Hamilton to change his driving style slightly so he stops munching up the rear tyres as much. Overall, the car has a lot of potential, but it's a case of how much can McLaren get out of it given last year's consequences and the inexperience of Hamilton and Kovalainen.

I completely agree.

Yes, the pit lane rule closed in the first two laps of the SC is not very good. Just because people used to take advantage of it without actually racing, does not mean that it should not be allowed because all teams are equally subjective to it, the best teams just use their brains more and thus have an advantage.

Even though Renault made a huge step, race pace is just not as fast as Ferrari and Mclaren, but boy...are they getting there. I hope FA stays with renault forever and that they continue to bring improvements like this one.

I'm just glad Heikki is alright, I love my finns :D

Well minus Kimi, have respect for the guy but he turned RED

Well done to Lewis today, glad he is back on podium, kudos to the reds.

Yes my main concern was Heikki today, was a bit sad that a few other people didn't even mention him when talking about the race.

It's becoming an almost weekly thing that RD sticks his foot in his mouth
And the delivery was simply atrocious :evil::cry:
This is a comment I got from a friend of mine who I recently introduced to F1 racing - it says it all:

"The comment by the Mercedes guy about kubica's nose and weight - OH
SO MEAN AND NASTY! I was terribly disappointed (and not just because
he's "my" guy) - I thought this sport attracted civilized men. It's
one thing to think such a thing - it's another to speak it on
INTERNATIONAL broadcast!"

I see you heard it too. I swear Ron is ticking me off with these stupid little comments he is saying all year.

Im completely confused with what you're on about here :? Who said what??
Kubica's car nose? face nose? And whats it all got to do with the Pitlane safety car rule? :?:?::?

I quoted the wrong parts in my response - it's now fixed and rivelution's quote explains what RD said.
I think this arsehole should simply disappear together with MM.

A reporter for the SPEED channel asked Ron what he thought about Robert losing 6 kilos to even the balance on the car, and Ron's response was "I think they'll lose more if they fix his nose."

Windsor didn't even ask what RD thought with regard to RK, but rather whether this would be something RD would consider for his boys. That's when RD put his ugly smirk on and made that awful "joke".

So RD said Kuica's got a big nose-is that it? Well so what-he has. Do you think Robert gives a toss? I adress you to Nikki Lauda's comment when his looks were commented on after his accident "Im a racing driver, not a male model."
DD you take every opportunity to have a go at Ron Dennis because you dont like him. One minute he is boring and passionless and the next he is being politically inncorrect  Make your mind up. Ive heard infinitely worse in the pitlane than "you have a big nose".
If your friend takes offence at that and thinks F1 is civilised perhaps you should enlighten him to the antics of the head of the FIA who likes Nazzi orgies and being whipped by hookers. "big nose" is playground talk compared to that.
