TBH I don't think any incident in this race was worthy of any input from the officials. All racing incidents AFAIC.
I just watched the start of the Hungarian GP again and there were heaps of other teams personnel over the line as the cars took off. No outcry or claims of extreme danger then. Apparently it's only dangerous or wrong when it's done by men in red :hehe:
Also interesting that there was no mention about Lewis reversing into his slot at the start when he overshot his slot after the warm up lap.

There's a difference between being over the line and actively working on the car as the field whizzes by. The Hamilton issue wasn't mentioned I believe because he corrected it by just letting the car roll back as it's a bit of an incline. Why would there be a need to mention that?

Watch the start of Hungary - there are teams running across the circuit before the last cars have left the grid  But it's inconsequential and Ferrari can be the first team to be pinged for breaching the rule that every team breaches almost every race. I don't for one moment buy any of this false carp about how "dangerous" it is :hehe: that's a joke, if that was really genuinely dangerous they would ban all pitstops because they are far more dangerous for the crew members.

On Lewis overshooting his bay, I believe cars are not allowed to reverse on the grid. So thanks for reminding that the Spa grid is on an uphill slope so he could indeed simply roll back.

Ferrari said it was a conscious decision to work on the car there and then. As I said, there's a difference between running out of the way late and purposely staying on the grid to work on the car. Nothing against Alonso as he's got nothing to do with it, it was the team's decision, but you can't be offended that a penalty was handed down.

Where did I say there was any problem with being penalized? The rule was broken and the team was penalized. Accepted.

I simply pointed out that the same rule is breached every race without penalty

I also checked the sporting regulations on what a driver must do when they arrive at their grid position after the formation lap "38.9 When the cars come back to the grid at the end of the formation lap, they will stop on their respective grid positions, keeping their engines running."

Yeah, Alonso tried to back up and could not get it in gear the race he was dinnged with a drive through a few GPs ago. I'm not sure I get your point though?

And no, but complaining that others have done it and gotten away with it, you're clearly not accepting it, just stating that there's nothing you can do about it. Water under the bridge though, nothing was going to salvage Nando's race yesterday. At least he got a few more points when the FiA handed Mags a penalty.

My point, just pointing something out I spotted at the start of the race. You know, there doesn't have to be a hidden meaning or secret agenda to every post.

Nope, you're reading something that just isn't there. Ferrari definitely broke the rule and they got penalized for it as the rules provide. I pointed out the fact that the rule is often breached but without penalty. I did think it farcical that some tried to portray this as incredibly dangerous. An F1 car takes off from a stationary start with full view of this in front of them and at a rolling pace get no closer to the crew than they are to all the crew at tracks like Hungary where everyone is standing on either side of the track with all their equipment - genuinely funny stuff.

I liked what Nando had to say about the Mag penalty - have a read in the PDF above.

Incredibly dangerous no but, we know that, but it was way out of the norm. Two year a go we saw a track worker get killed post race by heavy machinery moving a wrecked car out of the track post race. It's dangerous enough even without the cars whizzing by.

Alonso is a class act, and would be welcomed opened arms at many other teams I'm sure.

BTW, another thing I noted at the start was the green flag worker at the tail of the grid, took an inordinate amount of time to wave his ready flag and the red light came on before he waved it.

Now let me go out to the main forum and try to make that point into something anti Ferrari or benefiting Rosberg or something like that. :hehe:

I think we could make things much easier for the pure haters if Lewis drove for Ferrari :hehe:

Personally I thought a 5 sec penalty was lenient as it was a reasonably dangerous move to pull by the team. It used to be a stop/go. That said as Ferrari have mentioned it wrecked Alonso's podium chances. Magnussen's driving was over the limit and he was rightfully penalised. Also it was good to see Kimi do well this weekend and get P4, shame he couldnt hold Bottas off but the Williams is a better car and had fresher tyres as Kimi had to stop earlier to get ahead in the first place.
