Still a few tenths off. They need to sort that between now and Turkey, otherwise Massa will almost-certainly take victory there.

And to be fair, you have to admit that Alonso could (and most likely would) have held on to third place had his engine not blown up. He wasn't that much lighter on fuel than the other cars and he was fuelled up enough to take him well into the race after his first stop.

youre joking right? he was no where near for a podium let alone 4th!

Dead right! 3rd and 4th were lost before the engine blew and 5th probably if Kovo hadnt crashed out!

Kovvi and Heidfeld were both the longest of the front runners, If Kovvi hadnt crashed and Heidfeld didnt get the drive through Alonso would have been 7th before his engine blew.

Now thats realistic!

Most likely. The point is, though, that all of these things happened. If things had gone the best possible way throughout the entire season, Raikkonen and Massa would be first and second respectively in the championship and Lewis and Heikki would most likely be on equal points.

But then things never go in the best possible way, unfortunately.

i dunno where youre getting that from but OK

I assume youre talking about Ferrari's performance in Australia which wasnt just badluck! reliability aside they didnt have Quali pace and their race pace wasnt on par with McLarens. they admitted they had work to do for street races, where the tracks are green. But thats a long time ago now in development terms next street race is Monaco and i think they will be fine there!

Lewis would still be ahead of Kovi.

Two points at most, though, so it's not that big a difference. But I thought Heikki was on for second in Australia, which would have put them roughly even. Lewis would have been ahead solely because he had a race win and Heikki didn't.

I said if everything had gone in the best way possible. In addition to Ferrari lacking pace and having problems in Melbourne, there's also the safety car period that cost Heikki a podium place, the pit stop incident, Massa spinning and penalties in Malaysia, Lewis crashing into Alonso in Bahrain and Heikki's crash today.

You cant say 2 points. Id say more

although this hindsight talk is pointless i admit hehe Lewis WOULD be about 4-5 points ahead of Heikki taking say a 1-2 in Melbourne Lewis not getting the pit failure in Sepang heikki finishing today...
Denthul is right Heikki would be close to Lewis, but really only Bahrain he has beaten him during a race, where driver error was the cause for Lewis's failure there.

Yes I'll accept that  Without the driver error the gap would be more but he made the error so fairs fair. On that same token though some of Maasa's less than good results were also driver error.:lol: This could go on endlessly and im now getting fed up with it

You're correct, actually. It would be five points, assuming that things had gone the way they looked to be going at the time. Championship standings would have been:

Raikkonen - 31pts
Massa - 31pts
Hamilton - 26pts
Kubica - 22pts
Kovalainen - 21pts
Heidfeld - 13pts

Of course, that's a rough idea. Some of the figures could move either way. I think I've been quite harsh on BMW there, to be honest, since they were undoubtedly faster than the McLarens at Bahrain right up until the McLarens went on to the harder compound, and they were fairly even at Bahrain.

:D :D Nice one Lewis! :D:D I will resist the temptation to reply in kind to the title of the thread. Ferrari's look good but not THAT much faster. Hope Kovi is ok-think he is

na dont lower yourself to those wanks level

Haha, look who's talking. You guys (Fanatic ML fans) with some of the Ferrari's fans have taken your rants on several occasions against each other. At least my comment is related to F1 (teams and drivers). If I don't agree with your comments I don't call you names. But I guess you don't lower yourself to that level because you ran out of things to say that are purely F1 related. Enjoy it
