Although I'm no Alonso fan but I enjoyed seeing him in P2 :) while Hamilton is in P5

I don't care if Alonso ends up in last position but seeing him split the Ferraris and be 3 positions ahead of Hamilton while driving a lower car is sweet.

I think it's about time for McLaren to kick Ron out and make Hamilton #2

McLaren reject a World Champion, and bet on Hamilton, a beginner driver. It's their problem

The problem is more to do with who they chose as their other driver. There's nothing wrong with Heikki, he's a great driver, but it's two very inexperienced drivers. You can score points and get a decent result by the end of the season (Benetton in 1998, for example, with Fisichella and Wurz) but I'm not sure it gives you the ability to take the championships. Fisi would have been a much wiser choice. Look at how his input is helping at Force India.

Everyone was quick to blame him for Renault's woeful '07. It's clear that it was almost all the car.

I think McLaren are relearning the value of an experienced driver.

I hear you. I also think Ron has made mistake by personalizing McLaren too much. But I don't expect he'll admit his errors, nor will he learn from them.

:D:D Nice one Lewis! :D:D I will resist the temptation to reply in kind to the title of the thread. Ferrari's look good but not THAT much faster. Hope Kovi is ok-think he is

Still a few tenths off. They need to sort that between now and Turkey, otherwise Massa will almost-certainly take victory there.

And to be fair, you have to admit that Alonso could (and most likely would) have held on to third place had his engine not blown up. He wasn't that much lighter on fuel than the other cars and he was fuelled up enough to take him well into the race after his first stop.

youre joking right? he was no where near for a podium let alone 4th!

No, I'm not. He wasn't far off the pace, he stopped only a couple of laps before the other front-running drivers and, once the pit stops and safety car periods had finished up, order would have been restored and he could have taken up his spot in third. You might not like the guy, but that's no reason to deny that he was having a bloody good race and pulled out one hell of a lap yesterday, given his fuel load.

has nothing to do whether i like the guy or not its the lap times plain and simple he was lucky with SC periods them aside he was still not lapping at the same pace as the top 4

Lewis and Kubica both jumped him after the first stop and were lapping faster in the second stint how are you suggesting he would have finished ahead of them if he didnt blow his engine?

i would really like to know

Dead right! 3rd and 4th were lost before the engine blew and 5th probably if Kovo hadnt crashed out!

Kovvi and Heidfeld were both the longest of the front runners, If Kovvi hadnt crashed and Heidfeld didnt get the drive through Alonso would have been 7th before his engine blew.
