Jean TodtFormer Ferrari team principal Jean Todt has thrown his full support behind Max Mosley - claiming he is 'amazed' by the criticisms the FIA president has faced over his private life. Perhaps his private life is similar? could that be why he is 'amazed', maybe it just seems normal to him, they are very close after all!!

With Mosley due to face a vote of confidence on June 3 about his position in the wake of sexual allegations made in the News of the World newspaper, Todt has spoken out in backing his long-time friend.

In an interview with Canadian newspaper Le Journal de Dimanche, Todt said he had no doubts Mosley was still the right man to head the FIA.Todt looking after his 'favours' provider? if Max gets through this he will owe even more!!

"He is a true president," said Todt. "He knows his business very well because he is a hard-worker, thorough and reliable. He is very intelligent, and with a rare elegance. He didn't look very elegant with his arse bleeding and having his hair checked for lice!

"He knows how to impose leadership when he has to,Hmmmm with an international authority. He has worked very hard for safety.

"When you see what motor racing was like 30 years ago, especially at the tracks, what he has accomplished is remarkable. The number of lives saved under his guidance is absolutely phenomenal. He has taken some courageous decisions, sometimes against everyone, like the HANS device.

"Everyone was against that, but he was right. His work for road safety has brought a lot of progress. I'm therefore amazed to see that people are lingering on things which bear no relation to his position."

Todt has said that the controversy caused by the News of the World story had not changed his dealings with Mosley, who has not attended any official functions since the story broke. why not? he is still supposed to be President who has "done nothing wrong"

"I have very good relationship with him," Hmm said Todt. "I regularly have conversations with him on the telephone, and I do not see why that would not be the case any more."

When asked whether he was in favour of Mosley continuing as president of the FIA, Todt said: "That is not the question. If you ask me if I'm happy with the actions of the president of the FIA since he's been in office, I think he does a very good job. Well why wouldn't he think that, its been very useful for Ferrari

"Therefore I hope he will have the opportunity to carry on his work for several more years. But that said, we have to respect the rules of the FIAt when they meet on June 3."

What a load of rubbish. It looks like Ferrari have effectively given their support Mosley.

Just read about this in the Sunday Times-they met with Bernie but he walked out when 3 teams decided not to sign. I excpected it from Ferrari And I guess Toro Rosso In the Times it said the 3rd team was Wiliams I was suprised at that. I can understand it more if it was red bull siding with Toro rosso who side with Ferrari.
Hope its not Williams, didnt think that would be their style. Just read it again, it definately said williams. It also said 10 of the 11 teams met to sign the letter...so that could mean 4- Williams as well Anyone got any more info?

The article also said that some big motoring organisations(Like AAA in America) are thinking of pulling out of the FIA if he continues and setting up another organisation. They represent 1000 of motorists and many sporting clubs but only get the same vote as the vatican or small countries with little motoring interest (who of course are eager to court Max ) Good on you AAA!!!!

Seeing as Red Bull as a company rely on Ferrari for Toro Rosso's engine supply, it's easy to see why they may have joined Ferrari if you're part of the group who believes in the Ferrari/FIA secret alliance. For those who aren't, then different reasons will apply.
