The main issue for Alonso especially in the Ferrari is its driveability. That would affect him relatively more than less speed and power, as he likes to hustle and scheme his car round. Lewis, we know can tolerate worse sh!tboxes better. Alonso has never been quickest over 1 lap, lewis outqualified him as a rookie. When the car is unhinged Kimi, Seb are on a different scale of adaptibility to Lewis and Alonso but Alonso also likes a bit of understeer which should make it ultimately worse for him.

Yes I think Lewis in the Ferrari would be doing at least as well and most probably much better

Bit late on this one. I'd give it to Ricciardo, shaving Alonso, if only because he's been surprisingly good. Alonso we know is a class act. DR has been on top of that RB from the off despite a poor pre-season for the team, outpaced his teammate, and shown excellent racecraft. He's mainly done what he should be doing, what Vettel should be doing if he were so good, third in the points, mugging Merc when they slip up.

Alonso has been getting the results in a very reliable car, maximising its potential, and a bit extra, like his tussles with Vettel, where his racecraft is keeping him in the game.

Hamilton falls down after Monaco a bit. Up to that point he was peerless. His last two races performances are why he deserves the title over Nico.

Rosberg has been consistent which might yet win him the title but he's relying too much on Hamilton's misfortune.

But he only looks consistent because his car breaks down less than Hamilton's.

Detractors always ignore this nugget, highly conveniently.

Rosberg's :D missed the 's , thought it was just a jumbled sort of typo :hehe:

But he only looks consistent because his car breaks down less than Hamilton's.

Well that is the point of consistency, being consistent.

This enters the realm of LUCK, not consistency.

How is Rosberg more 'consistent' as a driver than Hamilton when the machinery is not of equal reliability? You do realize you're not being fair here?

That's more Hamilton's poor luck than Rosberg's good luck. It shouldn't be lucky for your car not to catch fire or whatever.

It is Rosberg's good fortune that his championship contender is suffering worse luck than him.

If Alonso was suffering Hamilton's failures, it makes no difference for Rosberg since Alonso is not in his story. In THIS case, Rosberg is not experiencing good fortune.

How is this so hard to understand.
