Just as it says...

There is a Japanese held view of the world know as Wabi-sabi. It looks at a world, (it originates in design) full of imperfection as being infinitely more interesting than it would were everything to be orderly, flawless or perfect.

Or, as the ancient Chinese saying 'may you live through interesting times' apparently meant as a curse along the lines of 'I hope your life is not straightforward'

However Robert Kennedy reinvented it for the modern age

"There is a Chinese curse which says 'May he live in interesting times.' Like it or not we live in interesting times. They are times of danger and uncertainty; but they are also more open to the creative energy of men than any other time in history."

The way I see it is this, not addressed to anyone on here - if someone wants a boring and easy life, great, but do not be expending energy on trying to stop others doing what they feel is right (moaning, censoring, b!tching, complaining, moaning some more, locking threads etc) - just do your own thing, live and let live etc

This thread is just plain embarrassing to us as a group should any unsuspecting prospective new member have a look at what goes on on the forum. It should be locked, burned, and never spoken of again...

...I think it would of be seen in the light hearted banter that's it's intended.

But good job ruining that.

You REALLY think looking back to the first page here it was all intended as 'banter'? Sorry for ruining your 'fun'. What a joke.

The first page was mainly posts ported over from another thread. When that happens, as some of the original contextual information is missing, newly split threads can appear disconcerting to observers who have not yet worked out that it isnt an "original"

Perhaps you need to ask yourself not what the forum can do for you but what you can do for your forum

errm, actually that was JFK not RK, anyway, as you were

I understand WB's rationale for starting this thread; but, if every comment didn't get turned into a battlefield, there'd be no need for him to create it in the first place.

I read your post again ZA and perhaps you missed the context of it all, hence your reaction. Here is the general "idea".

A thread that goes off topic with more than two posts each from habitually argumentative members, we simply move all of the offending posts into a newly created thread dedicated to those two members, be they whomever they be. Let them duke it out there to their heart's content.

It seems a little condescending at first but that's the point, perhaps after they see the pages spanning their "body of work" they'll have enough common sense to not continue. If they don't, at least we spare the rest of the membership from having to trudge through the fields of manure and locked topics.

I reckon sagi would have fun arguing both sides of the coin in a thread all on her own

LOL I totally see this happening.
