the race will be a Ferrari 1-2

Likely. However, at this point it seems Renault is making better development progress than McLaren. And I don't think it's the money.

Hamilton missing Alonso input - Campos
http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/news/detail/080426102059.shtml
One year ago, Lewis Hamilton was the meteoric rookie who seemingly could do no wrong.
At Barcelona, following a disastrous Bahrain Grand Prix, the 23-year-old McLaren driver is accused of having lost the spring in his step.
A reporter for the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport dared ask him if he is missing the technical experience of departed team-mate Fernando Alonso, who some say guided the setup of Hamilton's car last year.
"Nonsense," Hamilton fired. "Fernando and I have a similar driving style, but with the setup we usually went our separate ways."
Alonso's former manager, however, is in no doubt that the Spaniard is the missing element at Woking this year.
"Fernando arrived last year, put the car on the right track, and they thanked him by basically kicking him out," Adrian Campos told the Spanish newspaper El Mundo.
"And look where they are now," he added.

Of course this is only qualifying, compared to Bahrain three weeks ago, where he qualified 10th. So this is amazing. Well done Alonso. LH would never admit to his mistakes publicly, let us hope that he has learn them. I know, I know, Alonso also has to be blamed for spitting the dummy. But today FA showed how things are done fair and square, even on a slower car.

but to alter the quote of RD "Show me a good loser, and I will see P5 for LH".

Point 1 Lewis always admits to his mistakes
point 2 Alonso is light( and Piquet was round about on a heavier car)

I'm expecting he is lighter, but then again he was good all weekend so far, and I don't believe he was that light on every practice run. He'll be good. Wouldn't bet he's going to be podium good, but I wouldn't bet McLaren will finish higher than Alonso either. Bottom line - looking at Renault at the beginning of 2008, it seems they are making progress and then some. You can't argue that even with lighter car you can't be that good if the car sucks.

I think Kimi will win, Kubica will put in the fastest lap to show what the Beemer could have done under the right circumstances.

No the car obviously doesnt suck.

Point 1 - He said he has never made a mistake... everytime he blames his own team (or his team-mates).

Hamilton admitted he duck up last race he didnt blame the team nor has he in the past  infact he has had nothing but praise for the team, in a similar way to Schumi did with Ferrari. Something Alonso could learn, he bags Renault even now with talk of leaving. He isnt a team player!
Point 2 - I supose you have a complete control over the telemetrics of every team..., on P2 I supose all drivers get the lowest amount of fuel as possible..., and that's includes LH too... .

Lewis was running purple S2 then aborted, anyways most just put in a banker lap in Q2 and save the tyres for Q3 and the race

Well, Alonso didn't really plan (nor want) to go back to Renault, so I can understand he's not 100% happy there. And he's still probably carrying some grudge and bitterness from the last season.

But fact remains he is one of the most complete (if not THE most complete) driver packages in F1 today.

Not with that attitude of his he's not.

Not with that attitude of his he's not.

And before the argument over Lewis and Alonso falling out begins, the fact Alonso threw his needless childish tantrum over banging wheels with Massa at the Nurburgring is one of the things that really let his reputation down last year.

Alonso admits the car is not as good as his time, but Renault still have improved.

Not many people believe that Renault have made up all their lost ground in one jump, even Alonso. He said that he was very happy with the changes to his R28, but also admitted that he expects to finish seventh. Look for an early fuel stop. Piquet, who had shadowed his team leader all weekend, looks as if he was running a normal fuel load

I would like to see from the point of view of humour, Kovalainen getting the fastest lap but missing the podium for 3 out of the 4 races so far! i hope he does get a podium he deserves one for the way he has driven so far.

My backing's with the Brits, Fisichella and BMW but my money would be on Raikkonen.
#41354
Raikkonen will most likely win, I agree with you there woody. Massa will easily come second provided he doesn't make any mistakes (like he was doing in Friday practice - he was all over! As was Lewis...). I don't think Alonso will make third, but I'd like him to. I'd like the Renault to have made a step forward. Otherwise, I think Kubica will make third with Alonso fourth. Hopefully the McLarens will race each other a little and we can get a slight indication of which driver has the upper hand. :)

Renault have made a step forward-no doubt but Piquets' place is probably more realistic of the improvement than Alonso.Piquet was impressive in quali and is heavier.

I think they're capable of seventh and eighth places on a regular basis. Piquet is probably heavier than Webber and Trulli, whereas Alonso will definitely be lighter. However, if he can stay out long enough, Alonso could potentially bag anywhere from fourth to eighth depending on how other pit stops, traffic and general race incidents fall. I'm not expecting miracles from him, just a good show in front of his home crowd. One guy I will be watching closely is Kubica... :D

Come on... you are comparing the skills of a rookie, to a 2 times WDC. Don't you remember the last 3 races?
#41364
I'm more and more certain it is true - McLaren is missing inputs of experienced driver. Doesn't have to be Alonso, but comes to input, I don't think you can find much better one than Alonso - at least from current drivers.

Best car does not mean best result's so Kimi is subpar to Alonso? :?

As race driver? No. As car developer? My personal opinion is - possibly. Maybe it's because all the info about Kimi's way of life, but I do have feeling Alonso is more dedicated, more into it.
