I don't think it's right to compare the pace of Kubica and Heidfeld and put it down to fuel, because Heidfeld has not had a good weekend apart from practice this morning, whereas Kubica has.

I could not agree with you more. I think the truth is that Kubica is just flat-out better at qualifying then Heidfeld, but when it comes to the race, I think Heidfeld is better at keeping someone behind him and performs well under pressure.

You don't see me making topics such as 'STUPID FECKING ALONSO GOT P2' bla bla bla, 'FECK YOU RENAULT' bla bla bla, so don't come making posts saying about how s*** RD and Lewis and the Mclaren team are.

And yeah im with u mate, I won't sit and slag off Mclaren, unless they were doing a terrible job, which they aren't. Lewis needs to regroup... he really has lost a bit of focus, not his fault, just the car stunned him today

im also with you 2, renault are my team, so obviously im so happy, but im not going round putting other teams down, with alonso and MS, ferrari especially there are hardcore fans that think there team/driver can do no wrong, it borders on a religion lol,

i like alonso cause he won 2 chamionships with renault, this difficult year will be make or break for him, if he cant make it work here whos gonna want him after that? not any of the teams better than renault,

ill always follow renault, but they arent perfect, nor are any others, i think a better title would have just been fa 2nd, not the little dig as well

does anyone else think its gonna be only a race for p3driver/p2 constructor this year from now?

No. I think it will probably be P2 for the driver as well, because I don't think Massa will display enough consistency to come second this year. I'm pretty sure that Heidfeld will be in the top four, mind you.

Love him or hate him he did a fine job. Low fuel or not that tracks a bit of a swine at the best of times. Well done Alons OH OH OH. Wonder what the first corner will bring if he gets a decent start?
Kimi's answer to the press conference regarding how he felt about McLarens qualifying was classic. "I dont even know where they are". I'm hopeing McLaren are heavy but I think it's more about the set up.

I hope the same with Williams, Rosberg did well last year going from about 12th to finishing 6th, but sadly I can't see that happening this year. :(

Do you think Frank can continue with his independant stance for much longer? If he does allow a manufacturer buy in who would be marque? Porche would have been nice (again), few years to develop then who knows. But they aint into it at the moment.

I hope they stay around as long as possible. If the team does get bought out I hope they don't ditch the "Williams" brand. BMW have done this wisely with Sauber. Porsche would be a good link up because of the TAG connections and TAG was associated with Williams in their early days.

they can if the budget cut is aggressive enough

And that's what I think the aero-regulations will have a big impact upon next year. All those winglets, flips and fiddly bits being chopped off will probably save money, so this could hopefully be good news for any new entrants and Super Aguri. :)

Yeah, Got to be Williams + a Partner, not a buy out but a buy in. Dont think Williams have much chance of prising Ojeh away from Ron though, even if it was Porche.

Great job from Fernando, and don't forget Piquet, who has a good chance of beating him because of more fuel.

Kimi should win the race, and I'll say Kovy will be second because both Hamilton and Massa have been erratic this weekend.

As for BMW, both of them are in good shape. I think one of them could make it to the podium. Kubica no doubt is a bit lighter so with a good start and a clear track has a shot to win. Heidfeld probably doesn't have a chance to win, but I think if he gets a good clean start he could still get a podium.

I'm happy to see Trulli up there again, and he has a history of great starts in Spain. in 2004 he started 4th, led by the first corner, and finished 3rd ahead of Alonso.

i think Webber could get some points too, especially as Red Bull have had good pace in Spain. It won't be an easy race for DC because he won't get many overtaking chances on that track.

My tip if everything goes balls up with weather or accidents at the front, is Giancarlo Fisichella. Not for the win, but he only needs a bit of luck to score points for Force India. he held the lap record at the circuit de Catalunya for about 6 years between '97 and '03 or '04 I think.

Eat that Ron Dennis and LH. Now I can show you why I am Alonso's fan. He got the power. What a dream. GO ALONSO.

Yes it was a good performance on his an Renaults part but don't count your chickens yet mate, tomorrow is a long day.
But could this be a reason for it - I wonder.

Hamilton missing Alonso input - Campos
http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/news/detail/080426102059.shtml
One year ago, Lewis Hamilton was the meteoric rookie who seemingly could do no wrong.
At Barcelona, following a disastrous Bahrain Grand Prix, the 23-year-old McLaren driver is accused of having lost the spring in his step.
A reporter for the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport dared ask him if he is missing the technical experience of departed team-mate Fernando Alonso, who some say guided the setup of Hamilton's car last year.
"Nonsense," Hamilton fired. "Fernando and I have a similar driving style, but with the setup we usually went our separate ways."
Alonso's former manager, however, is in no doubt that the Spaniard is the missing element at Woking this year.
"Fernando arrived last year, put the car on the right track, and they thanked him by basically kicking him out," Adrian Campos told the Spanish newspaper El Mundo.
"And look where they are now," he added.

I'm more and more certain it is true - McLaren is missing inputs of experienced driver. Doesn't have to be Alonso, but comes to input, I don't think you can find much better one than Alonso - at least from current drivers.

Best car does not mean best result's so Kimi is subpar to Alonso? :?

In terms of character, yes. But when it comes to ability, nobody can deny that Alonso is probably in the top five at the moment.
