ROFLLLL I have experienced the role of "ACT CASUAL" so many many times on the road....that part when you're pressing the brake like there's a champagne glass in between your foot and the accel....and that nervous pit in your tummy....and your ar$e is clenched tight right till your speedo comes back to legal mode. :D

I was passing a black Audi a few weeks ago, as I was almost alongside it I started wondering what the box on it's roof was then realised it was a light.

My old car was so bad I was once told to speed by the cops to get up a hill.

In America if the average motorist could grasp the concept of there being a lane for slow traffic, a lane for cruising and a lane for overtaking we could "get" the humor of the above.

Not everyone here has a grasp on that. Mostly around here though, we have 2 lane motorways which is a total pita when some drivers find the bravery to go up to 61mph to overtake lorries.

If you read the highway code everyone is supposed to be in the left hand lane unless overtaking.

But it does not work like that. Most motorways have the following rules.

Left lane -lorries, caravans and over 70 year old.

Middle lane - 50-70 year old who can not be bothered to change lane so just plod along in the middle lane and then gets upset when someone undertakes them.

Outside lane - Rep mobiles, bimbo who married money so has a top of the range range rover who's make up will cracking if they go less than 100Mph always closely followed by an Astra Max Van or Ford Transit.

Yep I think that might of insulted most members of the forum.

That depends, are your 50-70 yr old middle laners plodding along at 70?

And for all the sane people on here: just ignore the word left and replace it with right :P

In Msia there is more a problem of ego than anything else...if someone have an average 1.5-1.8L car and on the right lane, and you come up behind going 30-50k faster, some of them refuse to move over. Logic - We are at the speed limit, we are not moving.

:banghead:

So my SOP is to tailgate them very close (more satisfying at night since you have brights) until they move over...and if they don't for 30seconds I pass around the left, get ahead and then slow down and the fun begins (they press the gas, I press the gas) till I gotta turn of somewhere.

Unless I'm in a rush, then I don't do the slowing down thing. And yeah I have had my share of road rages.

I do that sometimes, when dodos are hogging the middle lane, zip round in the left(slow)lane. Or go past in fast lane then make a show of cutting right back over to the slow lane in front if them and pulling away quickly.

That reminds me of something I did once, coming off one motorway and on to another I was going at the limit and about to overtake a bus someone tried to pass me on the left and get in front but there wasn't room between me and the bus by that time and he almost hit me so he had to get behind me and was tailgating. This pissed me off so I slowed a little and took a while to pass the bus and took my time to pull over but by this time he'd already pulled back in to try to pass me on the inside again and I couldn't pull in, I accelerated so he couldn't pass on the inside before we'd reached the line of cars ahead and the whole thing started again and he never got past me for some time. If he hasn't been so impatient and stupid in the first place I'd have got past that first bus quickly and pulled in and he could've been on his way.

Just saying the reason some people might drive in a way to piss you off might be because of the way you drive, especially tailgating with brights. This was definitely the case for one of my mates but he could never grasp that fact, he was king of the road and everyone should get out his way when he's tailgating and flashing his lights and stuff. Instead of getting out of his way I just saw them getting pissed off and doing what they could to hold him up a bit.
