Your holidays are making you soft.

I'm off to grind the garage floor now. That's hard!

Does this involve twerking?

It involves a grinding wheel on a drill and a chisel and a hammer. Stonemonkey, I have renewed respect for you!! You must have very strong wrists if you do this all day! I'm nackered and my wrists ache!

Looks like Bernie is going to get squeezed a little more. :hehe:
German bank BayernLB has rejected a settlement offer of $33 million (£19 million) from Bernie Ecclestone.

Earlier this week a Munich court dropped a bribery case against Ecclestone in exchange for a $100 million (£59 million) payment. BayernLB claims Ecclestone undervalued F1 when it was sold in 2006, with the court case which begun in April centred on accusations he paid German banker Gerhard Gribkowsky $44 million (£26 million) to ensure F1 was sold to a company he favoured. Ecclestone had always denied the charges.

"BayernLB has rejected Mr Ecclestone's settlement offer," a spokesman for the bank told Reuters on Friday. The bank's next step remains to be seen, though options available are civil proceedings or negotiate a bigger settlement from Ecclestone.

Ecclestone's lawyer in Munich declined to comment.

What were you doing with a grinding wheel on a drill and what were you doing to the floor?

I was chipping off big blobby bits and taking off loose bits. Then grinding it down...sort of T cutting it so the epoxy resin would stick. It's a relatively new floor but the workmen have mixed all sorts of things on it, so it had to be got as flat and smooth as possible first and loose bumpy bits off. That went reasonably well, but the epoxy floor application was a disaster!!

I think the big big issue for Bernie is not spending time in a cushy jail, or even leaving the executive side, its what would come next if he gets convicted.

There will be a queue a mile long waiting to have his arm off financially, and no matter how cleverly he has hidden his money, in the post 9/11 'hidden money = terrorism' bullying of the usual capital flight environments, some of them will come looking with various agencies on their side.

Once/if he gets confirmed as a crook, there could be lots of unravelling and old cases and old enemies, suddenly deciding they got screwed along the line

If his Bambino gets implicated that could be grabbed and frozen

Let hope Tamara finds a rich boyfriend quick

I posted this at the start of the thread, I thought it appropriate to repost now as this is what faces bernie after seeing off the criminal case. there are gonna be lots of people coming out the woodwork

Here are some ways youth around the world are making youngsters aware of corruption. Some great schemes. One of them, in Brazil is showing youngsters how to 'follow the money' and see where their government is actually spending it.
And why am I posting in the Ecclestone thread? :scratchchin::scratchchin: Can't imagine!

Governments have vast sums of public money at their disposal and this can pose a serious corruption risk.

One of my concerns about Scotland getting independence.
