Still, can't go backwards, have to move forward. We clearly lost 13 good engineers ("At Mercedes Aldo works with a group of twelve Italians") so perhaps Luca and Marco should have a stronger policy of hiring more Italians?

Marco will be getting away from those old style sweeping changes in policy and staff. Thats what has cost the team the most. With Aldo Costa, he was the reason Ferrari had the first clearout, they knew he was the best guy around having been there under Bryne and Brawn. So they got rid of the foreigners and had an Italian only policy. Then there was another change in policy and a clearout of the Italians, for foreigners like Fry promoted from Mclaren, and now you are proposing another change for Italians again!! A knee jerk reaction would be to hire 12 Italians, not realising that those 12 happened to be Aldos mates. Like rehiring Kimi

This is the stuff Marco has to eradicate

Sounds like Aldo is glad to be trying a different team who even welcome his accolates just because he is so good.

"I'm not happy about it. I worked for a company that is a myth. It doesn't please me to see how it is reduced, in Formula One terms, even though they fired me and in a way that I don't consider very elegant. Let me say that there are a lot of people working in Maranello, for whom I feel affection and it pains me that they are in such a complicated situation. It is not good, I left many friends there, should I be happy to see them in such trouble?"

Another good read. And it backs up much of what the judge said ( in the link I put on the Ferrari thread) .
And more 'unusual ' comments about Alonso. It doesn't sound as though he wants to work with him again. Says he won't be going to Mercedes. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in some of these teams when everything's kicking off!

From the ashes the Phoenix rises. I wonder what the hell is going on in the minds of the Tifosi? It's like someone dared to look behind the curtain.

What have you done Mattiacci?!?! Can imagine the conversations he had with his buddies as FIAT about how LdM had been running things.

:hehe::hehe:

And yet Luca gave him the job? Or did he? Luca is a political animal of the first order and would have known if M&M was any sort of threat. So was Luca told to appoint him? By an increasingly worried FIAT boss? intriguing!

Marco was planted by his clique and Luca was unceremoniously barged aside. However they allowed him to save face by delaying the anouncement till he had a new gig and so he told us all he picked Marco by default and would be more involved to try and stay in control till the end
