He does this thing on corners where he induces understeer . ( don't ask me to explain beyond that :hehe: ) so Kimi's the smoothie?

Yeah, that's with his reaction time at the wheel....quick turns kinda 'forces' understeer he probably has the car setup with a rearward balance bias. This gives him the confidence to enter corners knowing the rear is unlikely to snap out, so his style is basically opposite of Kimi. Kimi (especially during his McLaren days) loves a loose rear (cue DD entrance) which he can control with the throttle out of corners. Very Mika-ish.

They say Finnish drivers naturally prefer an oversteery car due to all those years of practice driving in heavy snow. :P

Its more fun to drive with oversteer than understeer.

Alonso has just gone down in my estimation, and Kimi has gone up.

I still support Ferrari in all their endeavours though.

Well in go karts its all about oversteer so they train with oversteer don't they. I don't know....I love oversteer myself but would my style really change if I got into an F1 car?

Maybe someday...in my next life I'll get the answer.

Very interesting stuff WB

Its hard to tell but ultimately the red driver is faster and so it has to be Alonso.

The article says 'Hamilton had opted for a high-downforce wing' which should be Hamilton was tricked over the wing at Spa by the team, 'he was forced to choose' the hd version

Doesn't it just make you want to go back to the article writer and say.' Great stuff, interesting read, but your facts regarding Lewis at Spa are woefully lacking!'

Whoa!! cookie what were you saying about old family values at Ferarri? We heard it from you first...AGAIN!

It looks like LUCA COULD BE GETTING REPLACED by the head of FIAT man ( is it Elkin? ) who is a close friend of M&M.
It's my friend the judge again so scroll down. But a very interesting read. Luca is not particularly complimentary about M&m man , saying he picked him because there was no one else and he didn't want the post leaving open. :yikes:
Lots of info in this article about embracing new technology and the old guard V the new.

( please don't tell me you've been talking about this for days and it's passed me by!)

Like I said before, Cookin might in fact... be: THE JUDGE

RC, you're reading all Cookins comments on that site, and coming here and reading his comments again (smaller snippets) in this forum. :hehe:

I wonder how many of there Teams that are only part of F1 while it is fair weather would still be around if they had been out of the championship circle for as long as Ferrari, not many is my guess.

The judge (and contributors) is too hard on Lewis and too soft on Ferrari/Button :hehe:

They get inspiration for their opinion pieces from my rants on here, so I had a rant about the Ferrari family and ownership on the 3rd and there was an article on the 5th from the Judge

http://thejudge13.com/2014/08/05/f1-features-the-family-losing-its-grip-on-ferrari/

For you conspiracy theorists heres a quote from that article

It is worthy of note, that Marco Mattiacci is a long standing friend of John Elkann, and a commercial operator much after the heart of SergioMarchionne.

Mattiaci today says he wants to replace Ferrari’s 4 year old $6m simulator which he believes to be outdated. Marco will see the Ferrari improve in their off track simulation efforts and CFD, which of course flies in the face of Montezemolo’s persistent demands for ‘the old ways’ involving more track testing time.
