Words from Theo Fabi, who must speak for a majority of the Tifosi,

“Ferrari today is poor. I didn’t like Domenicalli and I like Mattiacci even less. If you are the boss of Ferrari you can’t say that we will win in maybe two or three years. You have to be striving to win as soon as possible otherwise you are in the wrong job.”

“If I were Alonso I would leave at the end of the season. Ferrari should let him go with no regrets. The relationship is worn out and the desired results haven’t happened. He is a very good driver but to call him the greatest is a laugh. He last won the title eight years ago. He is a leader, no doubt but he is different to Schumacher, at times his attitude does not help the Scuderia and that wouldn’t be missed.”

It starts

Tell him to STFU, there's nothing wrong at Ferrari. Every team has their ups and downs.

Mattiacci knows that he is not looking for quick fixes, but rather must put in place a plan to bring Ferrari closer to the front in 2015 and challenging again from 2016 onwards.

MM will turn the team around, only if given a few years, and I just dont see it happening as, unlike Todt Brawn et al, he is a part of the family and is bound to get caught up in some intrigue or coup or clear out

and samples from both extremes of F1 knowledge/passion amongst the Tifosi

I'm also hopeful that Mattiacci has sat down with both Alonso and Räikkönen to ensure them they will have the best car on the grid, come 2015!!

Fabi is talking rubbish. It took Todt SIX years to win a title (WCC in 99) and Schumacher FIVE years to win the WDC. When things have gone wrong (as they have), these fixes take time. Personally Mattiaci's targets should be:

Remainder of 2014 - A win, anywhere, any how.
2015 - Regular podiums and a few wins with an outside title challenge (bit like Ricciardo/RBR this year)
2016 - WDC and WCC challenge.

If progress is made as time goes on thats fine with me. Todt/Brawn didnt sort things out in a day, but they made progress year on year. Every year they got more and more competitive until they won the WCC and WDC.

It would seem Fabi doesn't realize that Mattiacci is human!

like I said earlier (said to be kicking the team etc) the biggest problem for Marco will be managing expectations amongst the fans who have more passion than knowledge about how teams get rebuilt in F1 history. Everyone is happy with him now, but a few months from now they want wins and titles and passion.

And when the fans are grumbling, that will provide the ammunition for someone to attempt a coup and Mario will be sacrificed and the same pattern will continue

The fans will forget about the logic in rebuilding properly instead of quick fixes, and the passion will take over when they watch Merc scooping all titles before them

We can see this already and the guys only being in the job a few months, a year from now without a win?

But you expect him to give Alonso and Kimi ""the best car on the grid come 2015""

You really shouldn't quote people out of context! Verbatim, what I said was:
I'm also hopeful that Mattiacci has sat down with both Alonso and Räikkönen to ensure them they will have the best car on the grid, come 2015!!

What I "expect" is that Mattiacci will put together the best team that can deliver the best car for 2015.
But, rest assured, if 2015 comes and goes, without a title; but, there is a good measure of success,
I won't be joining any lynch mobs!

So let me understand this

You are saying you hope Marco has sat down to assure (ensure even) his 2 drivers that they WILL have the best car on the grid in 2015, even though you are now suggesting that you ""expect"" ONLY that he will put together the best team that ""can"" deliver the ""best"" car for 2015?

And you dont see any irony there in the context of the discussion that the downfall of the new guy could be centered around managing expectations? eh??

and Fabi is the unreasonable tifosi???
