One year ago, Lewis Hamilton was the meteoric rookie who seemingly could do no wrong.
At Barcelona, following a disastrous Bahrain Grand Prix, the 23-year-old McLaren driver is accused of having lost the spring in his step.
A reporter for the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport dared ask him if he is missing the technical experience of departed team-mate Fernando Alonso, who some say guided the setup of Hamilton's car last year.
"Nonsense," Hamilton fired. "Fernando and I have a similar driving style, but with the setup we usually went our separate ways."
Alonso's former manager, however, is in no doubt that the Spaniard is the missing element at Woking this year.
"Fernando arrived last year, put the car on the right track, and they thanked him by basically kicking him out," Adrian Campos told the Spanish newspaper El Mundo.
"And look where they are now," he added.

Of course this is only qualifying, compared to Bahrain three weeks ago, where he qualified 10th. So this is amazing. Well done Alonso. LH would never admit to his mistakes publicly, let us hope that he has learn them. I know, I know, Alonso also has to be blamed for spitting the dummy. But today FA showed how things are done fair and square, even on a slower car.
but to alter the quote of RD "Show me a good loser, and I will see P5 for LH".
if renault hve the pace to escape the cars behind then a really good result is possible but of course its a ferrai 12 bar no mistakes

I think it will be a fight fo 3rd between BMW, and Renault. It should be exciting to see.

it will be close though Massa Kubica and Hamilton were only separated by 100th of a second while Kovvi was a tenth behind, Kimi and Fernando are probably the lighter but the fact that Heidfeld and Piquet have such a big gap to their team mates kinda suggests that Kubica and Alonso are lighter than the McLarens.
