Corinna Schumacher, the wife of Michael Schumacher, has said the seven-time world champion is "getting better" after being transferred to a rehabilitation clinic in Switzerland last month.

Before waking up from his medically-induced coma on June 16, Schumacher had been in a hospital for 170 days in Grenoble following the serious injury he sustained from skiing accident in December. Updates on Schumacher's condition during that time came from official statements from the family - usually through his manager Sabine Kehm.

But this week Corinna spoke to a German magazine during her first public appearance since Schumacher's accident at a horse riding tournament in Switzerland.

"It's getting better, slowly certainly, but in any case it's improving," Corinna told Neue Post.

There is still no official word on the medical documents purported to be those of Schumacher which may have been stolen and offered up for sale, which his family confirmed had taken place in June.

Corinna Schumacher, wife of the injured seven times world champion Michael, has issued her first personal statement since the accident which put her husband in a coma seven months ago.

I'm not sure that's any more or better news than what we'd already heard before. I hope he's improved since coming out the coma and that it continues.

It made me expect the worse that she didn't want to for such a long time!

I have some news about this accident. not how Schumacher is at present, but about the actual accident.

Today I was white water rafting and we got talking to our instructor, in the winter he is a ski instructor at Meribel. That's the resort where Schumacher had his accident. We mentioned this and he said yes, He didn't see it happen but was on the scene in less than five minutes and calling for the helicopter.
He then said...we can't understand why he was skiing there, it's just rocks and ice.

( I was in the Alps near Meribel at the time of the accident and the snow was poor, but I never imagined he was skiing on stuff that bad)

He also said that they see accidents like that ever year but because of him being so famous it was highlighted every where.

And then the really revealing thing he said was that Schumacher's doctor had said that due to a prior head injury in his racing career, any further injury to his head would be very very serious.

That last bit is something we haven't been told about. I'm not sure what the prior injury was, I know he injured his neck when he went motor bike riding, but this guy mentioned specifically head.
So it doesn't sound like things arent quite as straightforward as have been suggested.
I guess once an adrenalin junkie, always an adrenalin junkie.
Still a very sad situation, that goes without saying.

Did he hurt his head when he broke his leg in 99? I can not think of a head injury either RC

I didn't think he hurt his head then Jab. He was conscious . I can't think of any other unless maybe in a previous formula? It wouldn't just be the G forces would it?

EDIT: just had a scout around and that motorbike injury was bad. Damage at the base Of the skull and a hairline scull fracture. It could be that.

I'm pretty sure he fell off his bike and injured his neck badly and had a few minor head injuries. Think that was why he couldnt race for Ferrari in 2009 when he tried to replace Massa.
