Cookin might indeed be the judge... but he'd never tell us. :D

Apparently Bottas is now in the frame to partner Mags, interesting take on the situation from the judge

It was bound to happen. Initially they chased Alonso, then Hamilton was mentioned, next on big Ron’s bucket list was a young German who is receiving a spanking this year from Colgate boy. Now Big R and his side kick Eric are looking at chisel jawed Bottas as the most obvious replacement for Button.

It would seem that when the CEO of Santander made his comments about the marketing value of middle aged Jenson, he was being very astute in his observations. The surprising thing for most neutral observers is that Honda doesn’t want to keep him. After all, he has the Japanese girlfriend and he would appeal to the older generation who buy Honda by the truckload – the senile and retired.

On a serious note I'm not too sure about Bottas. Again good speed but not too sure about racecraft. McLaren can't afford to experiment again but the options are limited. It might probably be best to extend Jenson for another year and then wait and see how the market opens up in 2015.

Forget Perez, it's Whitmarsh and to a certain extent Jenson we should be discussion here. Still no sign of former. Perhaps when he finally crawls out of his boothole he'd care to explain why he handed a £16M + contract to a guy who was quite clearly not fit to lead the team. Boullier and Ron are no fools though. They will make the necessary changes to bring the team back to where it should be.

Whitmarsh could have got Jenson for 5 mil. Madness to pay what he paid :banghead: all part of the infatuation. If Jenson does stay I would hazard a guess the salary will be reduced somewhat.

If I were Jenson, I'd be worried about my chances of retaining a seat; and offer to drive for free next year.

Don't think Magnussen is safe and sound either for 2015, I know his last 2 races where wreck by poor strategy and the Massa incident but he needs to start showing something in the second half.

Mags is only a rookie. I'd say he's shown enough potential to have another shot.

We said that about Perez.

We did, but Perez wasn't a homegrown McLaren babe and he wasn't a rookie. mags is.

Mags is also a Ron protege and not a smooth tyre conserving pullrod friendly understeer 'compliment'
