I thought they had to shut down? I thought that came about so Mechanics could have time with their families?

Didn't you hear that Ferrari is actually 'one big family'. So they aren't breaking any rules.

I think technically he is saying they wont stop thinking, and wont shut down their minds. But Im sure factory will still close.

I really support Ferrari in the fact that they are not going to shut down in August....

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2014/jul/29/marco-mattiacci-ferrari-shutdown-f1

We are not stopping thinking about how to make progress, there is no shutdown. We are about 1.2sec behind the leaders, which means months or even years of work, so we cannot allow ourselves to shut down mentally. That’s why we need to think carefully about this second place because we need to still be aware there’s a huge amount of work to be done.

Its refreshing to see how quickly the new guy has embraced Ferrari's special dispensation to follow the rules in ""their own way""

"yes the rules are there to ensure everyone is forced to have a break, but all our staff must keep thinking over the break, on the beach or at the family holiday resort so no mental shutdown, did I tell you that I have issued all our staff with specially branded Ferrari Blackberries?

Interesting read on Sky about the shortcomings of the F14T. No Ferrari bashing, I promise, just details. But this was an interesting way to end the piece.

One very senior engineer with a rival team who recently spurned an offer to join Ferrari said one of the reasons he did so was that the team’s blame culture, with a series of high profile sackings - including Chris Dyer, Aldo Costa and Marmorini - had made the team an unattractive place to join.

I remember posting something similar on here - that the politics was the reason they sacked exactly the same guys they then struggle to replace citing Aldo Costa who blossomed at Merc. It didnt go down well at all, it was difficult to post anything else after that for a while

At least now a senior insider at the team says this it should be ok to discuss it but it is difficult to know what can be discussed and what cant about Ferrari. I was impressed by the idea of the satellite based telemetry system that was discussed enthusiastically by Ferrari fans, yet to mention it now is kicking the team when they are down. Its hard to discuss negative news without sounding like you are there to upset the fans

Maybe we can have an alternative Ferrari thread where its ok to discuss good and bad, but then discussions would be fragmented. Maybe the Tifosi could have a safe password protected area where the good is discussed and we can discuss all news on this one, Ferrari are part of the fabric of Fi, its odd not to be able to freely discuss the latest news about them

just a thought

Perhaps you could use this thread - you started it.

Knock yourself out posting there, and while your at it, perhaps you could give us a post on the topic of Jenson at Ferrari. Don't hold back, and don't be shy to repeat something in case we missed it the first 800 or so times.

Is it just me, or is there a little bit (just a little) of rage in this post. :scratchchin:

Chill Spanks. Ferrari is on their way up. I can feel it...especially with this new boss, he's a hardass.

And I'm starting to miss them at the front...much nicer to see my fav team/driver head to head with my most disliked team and beating them rather than just passing them at will. And fo sho next year with the changes permitted, Ferrari will be a force to be reckoned with along with Redbull. You only have 8 races or so left to endure.

Oh attaboy spanky, I didnt realise you finally unlocked it

Jenson Button AND Ferrari and upto 800 times without complaints? :cloud9:

I even promise to come up with a different factual critique each time :D

i suspect if you want to see real rage you would need the key to the Tifosi lounge. I reckon they have a dartboard themed thread in there just for me :hehe:
