But Alonso was 'in position' near the front for a long while and not coming through the field 'out of position' like Lewis, he controlled the pace from the front for a big stretch
There is no way Lewis' engineers could have taken the chance and rightly so as we saw Alonsos tyrescompletely gone at the end, Lewis would not have been able to hold Nico fo one off at the end had he been on old options

IMO anyway

Lewis had cold brakes at the start and Merc told him to manage the left front brake for a while, same for Nico + Nico had some smoke but didn't seem to effect them much.

Excellent win by Ricciardo. Right now I would say that he is the best driver in F1. He is showing amazing skills.

He should thank Hamilton though for helping bring this victory by ignoring the team orders as Rosberg would most likely have been the winner.

I am guessing you said the same of Seb last year?

Taking the starting positions and the cars do you think Ricc showed more amazing skills than Alonso or Lewis. just curios

To win you must get by the slower drivers, you can't just expect a teammate to move over for you... well, you can if you're Alonso, but everyone else typically has to fight for what they get.

Imagine the embarrassment of having people claim that their "favorite" driver didn't win because he couldn't get past his slower teammate. Enjoy the summer break guys!

I am not sure Lewis was racing anyone in front of him when he pitted for the last stint, apart from Alonso. It's a possible alternative strategy and whilst 3rd place was a solid result I'm sure Lewis would be a little disappointed for not snatching second from Alonso, irrespective of tyres. It looks like some rev/torque management towards the end probably compromised his charge little bit.

Hey overboost, is Rosberg one of your favorite drivers? You've made quite a few posts on the forum and this is the closest I've ever heard you come to complimenting someone... typically you just take pot shots at Lewis I was fearing you were just... well, Good for you. It must be supremely difficult having to deal with all that hate through the summer break.

I remember Nico holding Lewis up in exactly the same way when on different tyres at a race last year. Oh well I guess that didnt matter because there wasnt a WDC at stake

erm....but hold on.....

Hahaha, I'm going to be quiet because I can't be bothered to argue with a certain 4 people...

You dont argue or discuss with them RyRy, you help them tie themselves in knots with the lies and contradictions until they provide you with some quality comedy
 You don't even realize  you're one of the four??

Ah, well, it's been a slice, people... see ya later!!

Cookin is definitely not one of those four...

thats either some very impressive stone throwing from a glass house, or is it actually a double irony

Hehe

Weather played into Lewis' hands there and was 7th by lap 20. Jumped Nico with some good laps and with Nico in some traffic, maybe Merc should have put the softs on for Lewis? Alonso managed to hold him off.

Weather didn't play into his hands at all, it was all equal. The thing that helped Hamilton, Alonso and Riccardo but disadvantaged Rosberg, Vettel and Bottas was safety cars as they lost a lot with having to pit one lap after everyone else.

Riccardo is a very good driver but not the best, Riccardo, Bottas, Hamilton and Alonso are all pretty equal

yeah you are right he had only Alonso to chase down, still means he is going to use up his tyres more than Alonso who can control from the front. It would have been perfect to get the softs on then have a safty car, then I have no doubt hed have won.

Good result for his fans more than for Lewis i suspect

Amazing race from Ricciardo and Alonso.
More bad luck for Rosberg and amazing luck for Hamilton.

:rofl::rofl: after yesterday? And driving from the pits? You have to be kidding me.

Lauda has said Lewis was right to ignore this team orders and the situation will be discussed. Rosberg is now saying it was the team asking Lewis to move over not him. but we heard you Nico!

I said at the time, I can't see Lauda being happy with the move over call, and sure enough he wasn't.

SO glad Lewis stood his ground! he'd really be rueing that decision if he'd moved across.
