If there's anyone non-F1 related I don't want to be the next head of the FIA it's Richard Scudamore.

Didn't mean that far out...

The only big name person who'd make a gd job of it would be David Richards... but I don't think that will happen.
A fortnight ago Autosport ran a list of those who will be nominated... and not one f1 face was on it.

That point's open for contention as well. On what basis do you say he'd do a good job? He's a McLaren man, has been for decades, is he supposed to be able to just suddenly forget and detach himself from that? I know where you're going with it, but I don't think it's reasonable to suggest he'd be 100% fair. Max likewise would have been a bad choice if March had still been around.

Max was a bad choice whether or not March are still around because he is corrupt and morally bamhrupt.
I say Ron would be good because he is a perfectionist and if he did the job he would want it done correctly. He is like this in all his undertakings and he is successful. Obviously there would be a conflict of interests and whether or not Ron chose to abuse that conflict(I personally dont think he would) is irrelevant. After the corruption in the FIA. if they are to have any credibility they have to reorganise and be above reproach. But that aint gonna happen either!

Why is everything in extremes? Neither Ferrari or McLaren or any of their employees/associates are unadulterated evil. But they're not saints either.

In any case, anyone with strong ties to any team should not be given the job, the impression of a conflict of interest is just as bad as a conflict of interest (As has been said above, perception is reality in these matters). And even if that were not the case, there's no way any one of us could ever guarantee impartiality from one of these people on any grounds - a perceived love for fair play is flimsy at best.

We also can't let desires to see our own teams do well colour our judgment. There is a belief that Ferrari knowingly and willingly put the squeeze on the FIA, or that the FIA is biased towards Ferrari through no action of Ferrari - either is bad. The reality of that is open for debate, but even that perception is damaging, it's even damaging to supporters who get embroiled in petty arguments whose merit can't ever really be decided. No matter which team appeared, yes even appeared, to have such power, it would be equally damaging.

So whether it's Todt or Dennis, whose names are synonymous with their current teams, like it or not, it's still a problem. And don't think I'm only expending this to the Lamb Wars. Someone elsewhere suggested Nick Fry do the job and I wasted no time in telling him that even if Nick were more qualified (He's more skilled with the business of F1 than the legal and sporting aspects, hence Brawn), it would still be a bad idea because Nick is Honda's man through and through and that would create bias or the perception thereof.

Good post mate, exactly the way I see it too.

Whats open to debate? that only Ferrari are invited to comment and make recommendations on rule changes, no other team is? Open to debate my backside!
Give it to Stewart with Hill as deputy, my vote.
As soon as Mosely goes, we will see a shift away from Ferrari but Bernie will still try and pull the strings for them (and it's not hard to work out why, money). We need someone like Stewart, someone with a healthy respect for Ferrari and it's achievements, but also someone who respects the other teams just as much.
I cant wait until FIAt falls apart and we see Ferrari racing it's best against the other teams best, and the same rules apply to all.

Refresh my memory about his indiscretion at the beginning of his career?

I can't say I remember one at the end of his career either.

You'll be waiting a long time. Max isn't going anywhere unless Ferrari condem him and by the sounds of things that isn't going to happen. And when Mosley eventually decides to retire on his own terms, then I am quite sure Ferrari will influence who succeeds him and then Max Mosley the Second will rule along side Ferrari once again. Face it all non Ferrari followers, F1 is all about Ferrari. Look it is even called "F1", the "F" really standing for "Ferrari" and the 1 as in "Number 1". So it is "Ferrari Number 1 aka F1" and tough if you don't like it. VIVA FERRARI, VIVA MOSLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the snake de Montozelmolo has spoken cautiously backing Max but admits he think he will step down, he has also hinted at the next leader being as strong as a leader as Mosely, i wonder if he is already at work making way for Todt or another Ferrari alliie to take the position

Seeing his stuff is so repetitive I though I would make it easy for him so I built a FORUM POST COMPILER which he can use. Only three clicks required and post is ready.
