Paddy just confirmed it was a 'structural failure' in the carbon brake disc made by Brembo - Nico uses Carbon Industries discs

So maybe Lewis can be blamed afterall for not being as cerebral as Nico to pick CI brakes - especially after all the fuss when he first requested them

So how are we seeing Hamilton's trip through the field going? Trickier this time obviously but the real battle when he comes up to the back of the Williams. How many laps? 5? And where will Rosberg be? Another 1-2 to Merc, with pressure from the Williams' cars early doors.

I dont think Nico will really race Bottas - will probably let him go if he is as quick at the start, might even let Massa go as well - if he doesnt crash out. Hopefully the tyre choice can give lewis a good strategy to close up to Nico somehwere

That Brembo guy was sweating in the pits. But if lewis goes for the job lot off the back of the truck to save a few bob, well, it's his own fault.

Is Nico in a position to play it safe? I wouldn't have thought the Williams that strong for him to be in that position but there's nothing gained by letting them through. Mercedes aren't thinking about minor placings just because they're not quite so far ahead.

But I agree if the tyres wear anything like Silverstone then Hamilton could gain an advantage.

Why can't they just change everything they can on the car and get Lewis to start from the pits tomorrow. Less risk of crashing, and he gets a revamp....a free gearbox change or engine change or whatever (if he has enough) and run an alternate strategy to all the front runners tomorrow. The pace of the car will do the rest.

I hope they do this. Starting 15th among all those clowns in midfield and heading through the tight but fast right hander....I don't know man.

Holy sh*t, just realized Magnussen outqualified the other guy by a SECOND today....hahahahahahahahahhahahahaa

Probably the final nail in Button's McLaren career.

Easy to read what Ron was thinking when the TV camera was on him during that Q session.

I'll never bet real money on Lewis even if he's leading the final lap of a race, the guy has got some serious mojo going on ever since he joined the sport. His rookie season was going fine till China, and since then it's been one hell of a roller coaster ride.
