Anyone think Ferrari should seriously consider booting Kimi out for him next year?

Has impressed in both seasons at Marussia - even got them points (which is a massive achievement) in Monaco and was P12 in qualifying on Saturday.

Then to top it off, his time in the Ferrari today was only 18 thousandths slower than Alonso's FP2 "Quali sim" time and 1.3s quicker than Raikkonen in the same session. Ok we dont know the fuel load but if the Q2 times were quali sims they wouldnt have been brimmed full of fuel.

So, with Kimi getting "bored" again and Jules impressing, should Ferrari be considering Bianchi for 2015?

Nope!

It's not like Ferrari have produced a competitive car.
It's not like Alonso is leading the WDC, with Kimi falling
further and further behind.
They didn't give up on Massa this easily, why should they
give up on Kimi, especially after taking him back on for
round two??

To be honest, what more can they really do? Kimi is choking, Alonso will always be numbro uno until he leaves Ferrari anyways, plus it's not like Jules sucks or anything. He has great talent to be honest. Besides, Kimi ain't leaving til 2015, so in 2016, Bianchi will be ready for Ferrari

Alonso has 87 points to Kimi's 19, I dont remember Alonso ever having over FOUR times Massa's points. Also in races its Alonso 9-0 Kimi, which again shows Kimi is being thrashed.

I believe Jules is the future for Ferrari and he's showing all the signs of being able to develop into a great driver. Having said that, I don't believe we should rush him into the team next year.

Kimi can do a good job and I think we should focus on the car for next year. I would like to see Jules get a drive for a mid-range team, perhaps move up to Sauber and they can improve their car as well. That would be excellent grounding for him to come to Ferrari in 2016.

When Fernando retires we can add Dan and have the Jules and Dan show

I'm starting to think Bianchi should be in ahead of Raikkonen next season, today he outqualified Kimi in a Marussia...

I would say Bianchi out qualified Ferrari. What a botched team call.

I'm now even more convinced that we should leave Kimi finish his contract which runs to the end of 15 I believe. We should try and scout Dan as an option (assuming Red Bull don't tie him up on a long term contract - which they really should be trying to do). Jules is developing just nicely and will only get better with more experience and maturity.

You do realize that the gap between Alonso and Raikkonnen's position was the same as it's been all year.

I thought Kimi did a really good job all weekend and especially during the race. All 3 practice sessions he seemed to be close to matching Fernando (no mean feat). Q the team let him down badly yet he backed them publicly and put it behind him quickly to focus on the race. He did a great job starting from the rear, and, if I'm not mistaken, after the long SC restart at the beginning of the race (lap 14 or 15?) he made up an additional 8 places.

Not questioning the facts, the question is whether Jules or some other young gun would have or could have done better. Frankly for what Ferrari is paying Kimi it's hard to justify the season so far. If you fell that a year developing at Marussia is better for Jules than a year developing at Ferrari then that's your answer to the poll and that's that. But it would be difficult to hand Ferrari results worse than the ones Kimi is handing them.

So Ferrari is paying a double premium for the luxury of having Kimi.

Hindsight is 20/20...

NO one could have foreseen the difference in power units.
NO one seems to have foreseen the disadvantage of the freeze.
NO one anticipated that only one team would get it right.

So, NO, it's not question of whether someone else could have
done better!! It's a question of why Ferrari didn't do better!

Completely agree sagi! It doesn't get any simpler than we should have done better in our build up to the first race. And its a pity for the f1 fans that we are banned from trying to recover as we did in '03 or as Renault did in '06.
