I've not always been a fan of Coulthard's commentary ,thought him a little biased ( not in favour of my driver) quick to blame him and in the earlier days I think possibly somewhat jealouse. However, I find this recent article by Coulthard about Lewis, very fair and quite moving. I think he has the essence of Lewis.

On the track isn't this the way Hamilton's always been, slightly mercurual? Coulthard can't champion Vettel now, so he's conveniently chosen Lewis. I don't really follow his articles - what's his attitude to the RB situation this year, esp the drivers? Because I vaguely recall him being one of those who saw genius in everything Vettel did.

He did because red bull were paying him. And he always talked Jens up because he was in the clique, and he generally put Lewis down. But this article I thought was fairer. Yes, it's howLewis always is, ( not sure I'd call it mercurial) but heart on sleeve driven by passion and emotion, but that's not always how Coulthard's called it.

He'd need a microscope to see that this year.

Coulthard has become more balanced toward Lewis since Brundle left for Sky, and now he cant kiss Sebs arse he has to be fair with Lewis. Brundle is the root of a lot of the steak dinner bumchum clique. Ever since he expected to become Lewis' manager and was shocked that Lewis couldnt see how important and respected as the 'Murray Walker heir' he was, and how he was a maker and breaker of F1 drivers who didnt tow the line like a certain amphibian. I am not sure if Lewis started cold shouldering him on the grid walk before or after laughing his head off as he told brundle thanks but no thanks

Woohoo, my previous favourite now having my favourite's back!

DC is still my idol. The guy was not the fastest driver on track at the time though a real racer, and he lived the F1 life with the women (he booked a CRUISE in Monaco to organize a schmex HQ!!!) and the planes, and a character I still miss on the grid today.

Oh wait, LH Support thread....well Lewis is pretty good too.

:D

Do we need a DC support thread?

No I think I'm the only DC fan here.

I remember even during those times I was defending and defending and defending away why DC deserves the McLaren seat and his only problem was Ron Dennis' manlove for Mika Hakkinen (who I readily accepted was the more consistent driver)

Christ, I bet if they introduced Le Mans style run to the car before the race Lewis would suddenly discover he had triple fractures in both legs :hehe:

Lewis only managed 47 laps testing at Silverstone...he had an 'off' at Stowe that was Red Flagged & an engine change.. :(
Hope that all his problems over...before Germany :)

Always good news IMO to have parts break during testing. At least they've pushed things till failure so they rectify issues before the main event.

Yeah better then engine go then than in a race........has he got enough engines left?
