I think you guys have warped the intent of the to finish first, first you have to finish line as the intent was entirely applicable to calm the drivers that have a tendency to crash out in the first handful of laps of a race.

Found this interesting, because I can actually relate to both sides of the coin:

, Pete Gill wrote:">Lewis Hamilton claims Nico Rosberg is 'not really German' ahead of his home race

Lewis Hamilton has ratcheted up the pressure on Nico Rosberg ahead of his Mercedes team-mate’s home race by claiming Rosberg 'isn’t really German'.

The comments, bound to be classified as ‘mind games’, were delivered in the aftermath of the British GP when Hamilton moved to within four points of Rosberg in the Drivers’ Championship with victory at Silverstone.

Yeah, I can understand his views but I know a girl here who is a born German who moved here when she was about 8 and classes herself British for most of her activities but for sports she's even much German...

I'm born and raised Canadian and proud to say I'm Canadian;
however, "most" people aren't happy with knowing who has
issued your passport. "Most" people want to know about your
heritage, which isn't always the same thing!

btw, dual citizenships really throw "some" people off!

This is such a non issue, and another soundbite which Lewis has made jokingly (which can easily be taken in the wrong context) in front of a reporter. Really, there are some thoughts in every persons head which should not be shared in front of a mic.....maybe Lewis has yet to learn this.

In the end Nico can choose whichever flag he wants to represent....okay he has a Finnish dad and a German mom, so his home races are Monaco, Germany, and maybe Hungary?

Lewis probably brought this out after Nico's very declarative statement "Next up is Mercedes and My home race"...translating to "My turn to win My Home GP". It's just more politics.

When we get to Hungary, and he says Hey its my Home race! Someone should punch him in the face. :hehe:

Agreed - its just the media trying to build tension between the team mates. Rosberg has come out since saying that HE WAS THERE when Lewis said it, and it was nothing. Lewis was just making a point that although it IS a home race for Rosberg, he doesnt get half the home support that Lewis does in Britain. He also mentioned that when they were younger Rosberg didnt consider himself German, as he raced under the Monaco flag.

The problem is, people with very low IQ feed off this s***. I had an argument with such an idiot yesterday on facebook (an ex forum member), who called Lewis a "d*ck" right off the bat for the headline without even reading what was said.

As Vlad used to say - Haters gonna hate

it's more hate than low IQ. I told RC early on in the year, let's just sit back and enjoy the ride.

This one is for Billindenver, JensonB, Vlad, f1ea, IheartKimmi, Sagi58, 3/4 of the FB group LRW referred to, the entirety of RC's Lewis' Dissenters Club and the newest addition to the list Cyril Sneer Racing. :drink: May heads explode... you jelly?

EDIT: the desire for Lewis to crash and burn are strong in these ones. :yoda:

Honestly? I will look up the "snippets" you recommend; but, that particular one I found by "accident"
as I was scrolling down looking for the one you mentioned about the FRIC "controversy"!

Thought it was interesting that Hamilton would make a second reference to Rosberg's background!
((the first one being that he is hungrier for the win because of his own less than pampered childhood)).

No, thanks! Prefer jam, if and when I feel it's worth the "cheat"! :P

If only there was an active Alonso V Raikonnen thread... but alas, we're stuck here discussing how Mercedes did everything right, put nose to grindstone and made the most out of the new regulations. Some people would call that cheating but those would be the ones who have so much passion, they transcend the real world.

Damn WB you seem to be in a feisty mood. :hehe:

The Lewis haters have mostly become Nico fans now....so in that respect it's good for Nico, he's expanded his fanbase MASSIVELY.
