Questions and answers about going to a race weekend

Yes the GP2 cars are louder, but I didn't find the F 1 car noise unacceptable at all, different, but not unacceptable, it was great to hear the crowd noise from all round the track, like when Nico retired, the place erupted. you can't normally here that. The cars sound more throaty, less screams. I thought the Sauber sounded a bit worse than the others, I noticed that a couple of times on Saturday, it sounded sort of dull. To be honest I forgot about the noise in the excitement of the race action.

Agree with you racechick, and when Horner asked about the engines at the party and everyone booed I stayed silent. The noise didnt affect my weekend one bit, they were still loud, just not as loud as before. I still had to put my headphones on to hear the commentary - although I wish I hadn't bothered during the race, the commentators didnt know the rules and must have kept wondering why Alonso didnt immediately stop for his penalty for about 10 laps

Other than that it was a great weekend, its just a shame we cant have BBC/SKY commentary instead of people who dont know what they're talking about.

I'm glad you mentioned Horner whipping up the crowd, I was annoyed with that. I actually shouted the opposite :hehe: most people were fairly drunk I guess by that stage or going on adrenalin and just joining in.
Agree about the commentary too, you get so much more atmosphere at the live GP, so, so much more, but the details you miss, and I still need to watch the recording of the race to get that. Years ago I had a little Casio TV and I could get the BBC on it and listen through earphones, that was ACE.

Until they stopped doing it, I always rented a fanvision/kangaroo tv set as you got live timing, onboards of all the key drivers and BBC/SKY commentary. Its a shame they dont do them anymore. I'm guessing you also watched the re-run on Sky F1 this afternoon/evening when you got home?

Yes Kangaroos were really good. I had those a couple of times. I've watched half of the BBC programme, I've not got Sky. But most of what I watched was the build up and the red flag period :hehe: I'll catch up properly tomorrow.

I had to hand the camera over when Lewis came by on the parade lap. Too busy dancing about to get his attention.

Pretty sure so, and a wave. I was waving my Tshirt dress in the air with a Union Jack bikini top on and chequered flag tights, right at the top of the isle steps. Picture is somewhat too embarrassing to post, but this was me before the top came off.

And here is. Lewis waving back :D
