Marussia's Jules Bianchi will stand in for Raikkonen on Wednesday - but the Finn is expected to be fit to race in the German Grand Prix on 20 July.

Despite not having the best aerodynamics or engine power, one thing that has gone un-noticed so far this season has been Ferrari's reliability which has almost been bulletproof. I can't remember one mechanical DNF for either Alonso or Kimi this season so far!

Considering the new rules and everyone else's (including Mercedes) reliability issues, I think this is a great achievement from Ferrari.

This guy is saying all the right things, looking forward to see the team he brings to the grid for 2015.

ESPNF1 Ferrari team principal Marco Mattiacci says he is "preparing a different team for 2015" but declined to go into details.

Ahead of the British Grand Prix Corriere dello Sport reported that engine boss Luca Marmorini, who oversaw the design of the team's underpowered V6 power unit, had left the team. But Mattiacci, who replaced Stefano Domenicali as team boss in April, said he would not be disclosing any of his plans for the future any time soon.

"I don't have to make any announcements," he said. "The best announcements are results, those are the best announcements that a team can make. We are definitely working to improve because today [at the British Grand Prix] we were sixth, but the other side of the coin is that we are not happy to be sixth. The weekend was sweet and bitter, with a lot of emotion and positive things, but we are not happy to be sixth.

"Starting from here we need to prepare a different team for 2015. But do we need to do an announcement? No, I don't think we need to do an announcement. Do we need continuous improvement? Yes. That is our position and we don't have to make any announcement at the moment."

Asked specifically about Marmorini leaving the team, Mattiacci added: "Nobody on our side announced what you said. I don't want to point to any individual - in particular during the race weekend - but we are redesigning and enforcing the team. I don't make comments about individuals."

I would imagine Honda will be splashing the cash on F1 engine boys about now

The same could be said about Force India - they have been bullet proof so far.

GPUpdate Mika Häkkinen says fellow Finn Kimi Räikkönen was unwise to state that he will "probably" retire from Formula 1 after the 2015 campaign, predicting Ferrari to switch its focus to Fernando Alonso as a result.

Räikkönen, who returned to Ferrari this season after a two-year stint with comeback outfit Lotus, explained in the run up to the British Grand Prix that he is unlikely to seek an extension to his contract when it expires.

"I don't think that it's particularly smart of him," Häkkinen explained in his latest Hermes column.

"When the mechanics and all the other people in the team know that a driver has plans to retire in a year and a half, their focus will shift more towards the other driver, who in this case is Fernando Alonso."

Häkkinen also expects Räikkönen's overall level of motivation to take a hit after his admission.

"When someone thinks about stopping, it will have a negative effect on their motivation," he added. "Then that person won't be able to concentrate anymore on the many things you need to think about in Formula 1."

Räikkönen currently lies 12th in the standings, eight places and 68 points adrift of team-mate Alonso.

Apologies to those who dislike thejudge13, because that's where this info comes from. It's seems the judge has looked today at all things Ferrari.

Alonso - he speculates on the wisdom of pushing hard to rehire him past 2016 when he will be mid thirties . When there are much younger very promising drivers to move Ferrari forward.

Kimi- he offers Hakinnens views on Kimi ...and that is that he should stop talking about retiring, when you think and talk like that says. Mika, you loose some motivation.

Ferrari- The judge has previously speculated that Mr M&M was put in Ferrari nit only to sort out its organisation but as a possible long term replacement for Monte. But he do says M&M man is definitely one of Montes men. And he is weilding the hatchet very effectively at Maranello ( Tombazis and Fry to go) Meanwhile Monte is back to threatening to leave claiming that this year the racing is spoilt whereas before today the drivers could go head to head without worrying about saving things. hmmmmm.
