As chuffed as I am about the win, I'm still not impressed...I'll go as far as to say concerned about the disparity in pitstops. AGAIN, Nico had a mid 2 second stop to Lewis' 4.1 second. That's consistently horrible and the team don't seem to want to make an effort to improve that. I could understand if it were once in the odd race over a season but this is very consistent in every race. I'm not a conspiracy theorist but you do have to ask the question now, what exactly will it take for Lewis to get equally good stops?

Such fun!

Yeah...but I'd rather take a 1 second slower stop instead of a faulty gearbox.

Now we have a chance for Merc to look deeper into Lewis' box (which happens to be 1 race younger) and make sure he doesn't suffer the same thing in Germany. All this sh*t evens out over a season I guess...when you're driving for the same team.

Now that I'm a little more calmed down, I've had another glass of sangria, this time with a side of shrimp in garlic sauce and a healthy piece of french bread to dip with so I can get all that delicious olive garlic and paprika oil goodness.

First of all, solid performance from McLaren and hat's off to them. Button had perhaps his finest performance of the year, and Mags the rookie not far behind at all. With the exception of Lewis (of course) the drives of the day honors are shared by Bottas and Alonso. That's driving ladies and gents, that's driving.

Kimi with the unforced error (glad that he'd okay) is just out of the F1 game and Ferrari are going to throw good money after bad with him, maybe even once again buy him out. He's the least worthy WDC on the grid currently and I'm factoring in Vettel and Button here, that's saying quite a bit.

Bottas was phenomenal and I didn't anticipate the move up the grid he'd have, I had him pretty high but nowhere near second place, good for him and I hope the Williams are there to take the spoils away from every other team. This year they've finally turned it around and it's not just because of the Merc engine.

Vettel was an embarrassment to the WDC title today. Pusillanimous to say the least and that's not the word I "want" to use. :hehe:

He was whining his heart out :hehe: but he had a reason to. When the guy in front is getting an unfair advantage lap after lap, it does get frustrating. I like what he said in the post race though, "since he was doing it I did it as well, but there's many more on his list than mine"....typical Whinging Alonso who Whings at the very thing which he had been doing for half the race. Vettel finally forced his hand and all that was missing in that pass as far as I'm concerned, is the finger.

I was watching the race on the edge of my seat, very pleased with the start for Hamilton, really annoyed for Kimi and Massa as I thought Massa and Bottas would show some great racing today as I expected them to be fast but not quite as fast as Bottas showed today....

Hamilton did as I expected and predicted going anywhere from 1-4 tenths faster per lap and was slowly making closing the gap, to everyones surprise that hard tyres suddenly came to life and everyone switched to it in response to Hamilton's lap times. Started going 1-2 seconds faster per lap and within 3 laps he went from 6 seconds behind to 1.9 before the gearbox problem.

It looked obvious that Hamilton was going to win and extremely unfortunate that Rosbergs gearbox died but then again it's a long season and Hamilton has had two retirements due to a car problem so it was bound to happen to Rosberg.

Gutted for Button, we nearly had two Brits on the podium he only needed 1 more lap so it was so fustrating.

Force India struggled with the wind blowing the wrong way during their first stint which is a bit unusual.

Great drive by Riccardio, he's a class driver as was Bottas.

Fernando vs Vettel was rather silly, however I do feel Vettel did gain the advantage from running wide but then again they were both going off the track. The whole reporting eachother is pathetic especially when they both enjoyed it (as they admitted post-race) and both knew and admitted that it was always going to turn out how it did.

The crowd as usual were awesome and the cheering was fantastic, we all saw how Hamilton was really happy with the crowd turn out and the support meant a lot to him so that will of gave him an extra boost making him faster :P

Nikki arguing now that the race should NOT have stopped due to replacement of guardrails. Believes no one will ever hit that spot again. I kinda agree with him. game of numbers

:nono::bs: If they crashed there once it CAN happen again. Safety should NEVER be compromised IMHO.

Yeah, totally agree there. You just never know.

The likelyhood of someone crashing into the same spot are massively small especially because one reason it happened is because there were a lot of cars in one area and the barrier would of easily held up to another shunt.

While I agree safety should come first, it wasn't needed.

Also Lewis compared the feeling he had last night/this morning to Monsters Inc where they got power from fear/upset but then they realised that laughter and happyness was a better solution and it helped him today :)

Very entertaining and successful British Grand Prix. My only wish was that we didn't get to see more of a fight between Nico and Lewis, because I'm pretty sure it would've happened.

Glad to hear that Kimi is OK, my heart was in my mouth when his car was propelled back onto the track, into the path of oncoming cars. Shame Felipe was caught up in it on his 200th Grand Prix, the whole weekend has been disastrous for him.

Williams are very, very fast. Faster than they've been in a long time, and clearly faster than they expected to be, as they've squandered a lot of points, but the podiums are now starting to flow. Hopefully, the upward trend continues.

McLaren also had a successful weekend, and it's great to note how close it is now between Ferrari in 3rd, and McLaren in 6th. Those two teams, and also Williams and Force India between them, are set up for a season-long scrap for the final podium spot in the WCC.

It's a shame Max Chilton had an unfortunate race at home. His car was damaged in the debris flying from the opening lap crash, and then there was the mix-up with the red flag and the pit-lane. He came close to injury, and he obviously appeared a little shocked when he was out of the car prior to the restart.

Pretty much halfway of the season.....

Fun fact: In a 2 car finish, Vettel has never beaten Ricciardo this season.

:yikes:

Great win Lewis.
Brilliant day.

So, Lewis has had 2 DNF's v Rosberg's 1.........and Lewis is 4 points behind Rosberg. :D

Lewis is the man to bring home the drivers championship imo.

Plenty of tracks left to run that suit Lewis.

Yeah, pretty obvious. I wish I had taken a bet last year when I said to people here that "I bet Hamilton or Rosberg wins the drivers championship and Mercedes win the constructors championship, they'll win the first race for sure" complete idiot for not going with my brain. The odds when I looked were insane.
