Weirdness of the day, I grew up in the Caribbean and it's occurred to me that most tropical environments have limes instead of lemons. When you ask for lemon in your water, they'll put in lime. I don't know if it's cultural or more likely a bio/geographical thing where lemons grow best in milder climates and limes like the subtropical environment.

Anyway, I didn't see a lemon until the age of 10 and I am much more a fan of limes and wouldn't dare interchange the two in certain dishes.
