I think that fell through.

Since coming to Ferrari, Alonso is the highest paid driver in F1.
If he hasn't made that "net worth" list, it's probably one of the following:
-> a great accountant;
-> charitable donations.
I didn't list bad investments, because he strikes me as being a
shrewd businessman, especially considering his humble beginnings.

I thought Lewis and Alonso were the same. Both the highest paid drivers each on 20 mil. But I guess what gives Hamilton more money overall is his marketability and the money he makes from that. Which is why he's fifth on that richest drivers list.

They are now; but, I referred to Alonso's tenure at Ferrari.
As for the "overall money", we can only base an opinion on
what is reported in the media and not on balance sheets! :wink:

That seems to be a word we're throwing around a lot, of late, which made me curious about Alonso's marketability.
Amazing what a Google search will cough up:

Was this taken from a Ferrari site? It seems very much weighted to Ferrari drivers or ex drivers, and that Button is more marketable than Hamilton in the UK is laughable. How many people were used in the research? What socio economic groups? It seems it's just taken the world champions and thrown in Massa. what about Perez? He is highly marketable.

The rich list that Jab gave the link to, putting Hamilton fifth highest ATHLETE, not just racing driver, seems a far more thorough study. It covers richest people in all walks of life and is worked out using a variety of strict criteria.

Button is always on TV adverts in the UK for Santander, I can not remember the last time I saw another F1 driver on a TV advert.

I got it from James Allen's site, did he suddenly became a Ferrari fan?
Maybe the fact that it was filed under his Ferrari heading, was confusing?

Regardless, he used statistics from:

It seems a very strange result to me and at odds with all previous ones I've seen.

He was always on our local busses trying to sell milk as well until recently... as in on the advert, not as if he was stood on the bus forcing people to drink blue cap or anything lol
