I would actually say Ferrari rushing and using the traffic light system without enough practice cost them the WDC. Had they used the lollipop as most teams did at the time, I doubt Massa would have dragged the fuel hose with him through the Singapore pitlane.

On the other hand when your car is a second faster per lap than the rest, why would you need 2 sec pit stops instead of longer unrushed accident prone stops? The only issue is equal stops for both drivers, the pitstops have not caused a loss of position to another team.
