Italy vs Uruguay:

That was the most disgusting, blatantly biased, unacceptably corrupt attempt at "refereeing" I have ever seen!!

Sure, Italy deserved the few yellow cards that were levied against them, so did Uruguay; but, they didn't see as much yellow as Italy did, eh??

I'm still reeling about the red card against Marchisio, which the referee claimed was a "careless foul" giving him license to levy an exaggerated penalty, forcing Italy to play almost half the game a man short!! Still can't believe that a second yellow card was levied at Balotelli, and, yet, Suarez gets away with intentionally biting Chiellini!! Even after serving a 10-match penalty for biting Ivanovic, which wasn't enough to deter his appetite, the referee ignored Chiellini??

Are you kidding me? That referee literally offered that win over to Uruguay on a silver platter!!

Does anyone know where that horse's-ass-lives?? I'd like to pay him a visit: :deadhorse:

(((OK, OK, OK, I wouldn't do him any "real" harm; but, dag-nab-it, my blood is still boiling!!! Image:censored:Image)))

You could start nibbling on some body parts of his. Start with his shoulder and then work your way to more delicate bits

I'll pass, thanks!!
But... you go ahead!!

So what's with the Canadian men's soccer team, eh? A grand total of one (1) appearances at the World Cup in 1986 - are they indeed that sh!tty?

Canada is more about hockey than it is soccer!

Having said that, more and more youngsters are playing on houseleague teams,
with numerous Rep teams cropping up, in the past 10 years or so. There's hope!!

I found the following image on CNN and it looks like the "big picture" from whence that earlier one was zoomed in on:

Luis Suarez, a player of unquestionable talent but with an unfortunate tendency to bite, now faces disciplinary action from soccer's governing body after he appeared to sink his teeth into an opponent yet again.

FIFA said Wednesday that it has begun proceedings after the Uruguay striker was accused of biting another player during his team's World Cup victory over Italy a day earlier.

Television pictures showed Suarez dipping his head toward Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini, sending both men tumbling to the ground. When the Italian defender eventually got up, he pulled down his shirt and furiously indicated he had been bitten on the shoulder...

Wager? Or sure-fire bet?

Not everyone was mad at Luis Suarez for biting Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguay's World Cup match against Italy on Tuesday.

One Norwegian man won $5,600 thanks to Suarez's habit of sinking his teeth into his opponents.

According to Afterposten, Norway's largest newspaper, Thomas Syversen took a chance on the 175-to-1 odds that Suarez would bite someone during the match.

"This is probably the sickest game I've handed in, not to mention the sickest game I've won," Syversen told Afterposten (the quote was then translated).
