Hats off to everybody for an incident free race!!! Hats off to hamilton for an epic start!! It was alonso-esque for sure!! Hamilton definitely would have had this race in the bag if he hadn't done such a piss poor job in qualifying for the third time this year. Good job Nico for managing the brakes, the williams cars, and his tires so well. Hopefully he can better his fuel management to be on par with hamilton for the rest of the year. And an OUTSTANDING job by Perez!! I picked him to be 5th in the pool but 6th is just as good!! He may not qualify as well as hulkenberg but he is definitely smoking him in the races!! It was so nice to watch him pass the mclaren of magnussen!!! Talk about the ultimate "$#@! you!" What a race!!! Good job to maldonado for driving a nice, clean race for Lotus. If only they didn't have such a $#@! car he'd be beating grosjean, ferrari, and mclaren with EASE. But ultimately, mother $#@!%^& NICO ROSBERG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:drink::drink::drink::drink::drink::drink::drink::drink::drink::drink::drink::drink::drink::drink::drink::drink::drink::drink::drink:

Props to Nico, he did what he could've done and won the race fair and square.

I'm wondering about this little point you mentioned:

Hopefully he can better his fuel management to be on par with hamilton for the rest of the year.

Has this really been a disadvantage? What's the point of finishing a race with more fuel than your teammate? Hamilton has consistently been lugging more fuel in the car till the end, this adds weight and time per lap...as we know, extra fuel per lap is detrimental to laptime. Won't you want to be absolutely on par with your teammate and have no more fuel on board? At certain races this year (Canada as well) he had more than 2kgs of fuel than Nico and carrying around, detrimental to brakes, laptime and no use when the race is over.

I remember at Bahrain?? Nico whining on the radio... :director: ..how could he burn off/get rid of excess fuel ..to give him impetous to get past Lewis...I thought NR was going to jettison it onto the track
Fuel is weight to go..?..Wake up Lewis...

I'm glad you mentioned Nico's whining Ang, you see some people think only Lewis does that.:rofl: .

Good point about the fuel. We were discussing that very thing today, why does Lewis consistently lug around more than he needs? What's the point saving it if there's too much in to start with?

Fuel/Sandbagging...slower pit stops....heck ...seems like...anything to slow Lewis down....
Can Nico actually beat Lewis...all things fair & equal, we haven't seen that yet.
I love Team radio from Lewis....Just leave me alone man & let me drive....

I'm going to watch BBC2 F1 Highlights at 1930..it may show pitstops...

Alright, let's not get too far off the mark. Hamilton mucked up quali yesterday and had his chance in the race today. Unequal pitstops happen to every driver. Even webber had some firecrackers in his years at red bull. Some have noted hamilton missed his pitstop mark by about six inches today ( ) so can we ease off with the inequality? They had the same car today, the same 12 minutes in quali yesterday, and the same pit crew and pit wall.

Let's wait til silverstone where it's a nice, wide track requiring good power in high speed corners and we can further evaluate both drivers. As a rosberg fan, I hope for no DNF's or crazy pitstop issues. A 3.5 sec stop is not some ridiculous conspiracy compared to a 2.5 sec pit stop.

Definitely disappointed by the Williams strategy calls today. It was almost as if they were actively trying to lose the race. I don't think they'd have won anyway, but they could have done a little better with those calls.

Not sure if they were but clearly they felt they couldnt beat Mercedes, so wonder if they pitted later to ensure they weren't vulnerable to Alonso in the latter stages, as had they pitted the 3/4 laps earlier maybe they would have used up more tyre life fighting the Merc's and then ran out of grip and left them exposed to Alonso (who wasn't that far behind and actually caught Massa towards the end).

My views...

I thought that Lewis Hamilton was driver of the day after having to make up for two very unfortunate mistakes in Q3 yesterday, he fought from 9th to 2nd and nearly 1st... it was pretty easy to see that if there was 2-3 more laps or Lewis had started from the start that he would of been faster than Rosberg at this track.

I'm sure Williams were aware from the start that the Mercedes cars were and are still out of reach hence why both drivers didn't waste too much time trying to fight the Mercedes cars and stayed out 2-3 laps longer as they were only focusing on beating the Red Bulls (that performed badly) and the Ferraris and as such I thought that the Williams team did great :)

Can't wait for Silverstone, looks like we'll have another in-team battle :D

I can't wait for Silverstone either, for another Merc battle and for Force India and Williams to kick Ferrari out of their current 3rd position. :D

Exactly, I'm loving this year and just wish I had someone in person to talk to and watch F1 with :( It's awesome :P

Highlight of the race for me was Lewis Hamilton's first lap; from ninth to fourth in one short Austrian lap, impressive stuff; and Ricciardo's last lap pass on Hulkenberg for 8th was special!

I thought Vettle breaking down, then finding power again, after being a lap down, then almost taking his teamate out whilst trying to rejoin the race, was my highlight. .

Yeah. He is talented.

Thought it was slightly dangerous to restart and merge straight into the pack going slowly like he did, especially when barring a miracle he was out of contention. Should really have waited until the field passed. If it was anyone except his team mate he shoved off im sure the stewards would have been having a look at it.

Also the incident with Gutierrez was clumsy at best.

Twitter has just reminded me. I saw this today and thought.... Wtf?!?

Maybe they're alluding to the fact that two old rich white guys will be biting the dust soon?

One of them will be biting the pillow hopefully. :)
