That's a good point about being the hunter. There is pressure on the hunter and the hunted but they are different. I used to race online on DiRT a lot a few years ago and I took it pretty seriously for a video game and every time I'd find myself behind the leader I was able to push harder and more fearlessly because I really had nothing to lose since I wasn't in first. In the words of the great Ricky Bobby, "you're either first or you're last!" But for real even though it was just a game I was just like "$#@! it, go for broke!" and had some really good drives!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!! Nico throwing it down again! I'm guessing it would have been quite the fight for positions one and two if he and hamilton had both completed their final laps. But oh well, nico's not entitled to anything. He had the same 12 minutes everyone else had. Once again he got a great bank lap in first!

I'm curious if one of the williams would have split nico and hamilton had they both successfully completed their final laps

I'm kinda happy to know it wasn't a Mercedes issue, rather a Hamilton issue. I prefer Nico winning this WDC with Hamilton messing up rather than the same f**ked up "unlucky" circumstances again.... okay he's had 2 DNFs but he had the chance to turn it around today and messed up.

It's Rosberg's race to lose tomorrow...when these guys switch to the primes, the Merc is King. Lewis needs to right the wrong tomorrow by at least coming 2nd, or he's staring at over 30 points to make up in half a season. Doesn't sound like much but with the luck he has, I'd think he'd need at least 30 in RESERVE in case of more sh*t happens...so it's more like 60 points to make up.

As each race weekend passes, the more and more I feel Nico is going to smash it this year.

Oooh, that's blasphemy in many one's ears here :D

I feel the same way. I wish hamilton didn't have 2 DNF's so it was more even on the mechanical front. Then whoever wins, nobody could say it was down to luck or something else, just the drivers going at it.

Nico does seem to almost have same the metronomic consistency of alonso this year. The only big mistakes we've seen from him were in canada I think, and his accidental off in monaco quali. I don't remember any huge issues from any of the other races. Did he make any huge mistakes in china? I think he was just off the pace there, I don't remember any particular issues.

The one weakness I've seen from Nico in the past, is when he has a bad Quali he just seems to get lost in the race and can't recover. Whereas Hamilton CAN recover.

Quite true!! He doesn't do well pulling himself out of the midfield if he finds himself mired there

But he also doesn't bleat over the radio about it either. So it's not all bad. Lolz.

In Nico's defence he fought back very well in China after his terrible start (didnt he drop down to 7th/8th?) to get back up to 2nd. He does seem to be driving a lot better this season in my opinion.
