Or that they can both put down their best Q laps and not have it disrupted by some calculated or boneheaded off.

Hmmmm. 'Wisely' depends on your morals I guess.

If setting pole position on your first go in monaco is immoral then so be it :D

He wasn't so confident it would stand since he had to "push so hard" on his second stint. :hehe:

Confidence or not, even vettel used to go out on a second run when he had pole position already just to make sure. It's just smart qualifying, like setting the fastest lap on the first go in monaco :D

Knowing your team mate will wait till the last run so you can't copy his data then blocking his run. That's one way of doing things I guess.

Nico is the smart one, not the talented one.

I get the sarcasm, I get the subjectivity; but, seriously, what sense is there in separating the talent and the smarts if a driver/team wants to be successful? Why let the media divide a team (and their fans) based on the perceived strengths in one driver's characteristics compared to their teammate?

Hopefully, it's just to have something to talk about...

That's not to say nico isn't talented and hamilton isn't smart

I think Mercedes have a good driver pairing.

Talents is as smarts does.

Two mechanical DNFs for your team mate don't hurt though. Hope he's smart enough, lucky enough to make up for any shortcomings when compared to his teammate.
