It's apparent because he doesn't whine like lewis does.

or is it whinge?

Hasn't had his quali stuffed up by his team mate yet. Give him chance. If Lewis had responded in kind and dived in the pits before Nico when the crash happened you may have heard some whining, or is it whinging?

I'm not a brit so idk. I'm sure nico would have been like, "eh $#@! it I'll just win it again like last year"

I'm pretty sure if Lewis got ahead by unfair means
a) it's Monaco, Nico wouldn't have won it
b) you'd have heard some vociferous complaining.

You could interchange those two words, either would fit most circumstances you needed to use them.

Are they pronounced the same? Or does whinging sound like winjing, phonetically?

They're not pronounced the same. As you say, whinging has a soft g so it's winjing phonetically. Whining is pronounced like the stuff you drink. Wining and dining.
