Either way, Lewis hamilton could have set a pole lap on his first time out LIKE NICO DID:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Edited by spankyham - please remember to be respectful to team members and drivers anytime you mention them.

Indeed he could have, in retrospect should have. But this is Monaco. Lewis generally has the car on the ragged edge to get those extra tenths to secure pole, you wouldn't do that till the last gasp attempt at Monaco because you risk car damage if you get it wrong. Lewis was denied his chance because of Rosbergs 'error'.

I know what you mean. He still had his chance for 11 minutes prior to the incident and he didn't do it, same as the other eight drivers

The track was evolving, the margins small. Best chance , go late , go extreme. He didn't get his chance.

Agreed. Last is always best for the track being the most rubbered in. I'm trying to push your buttons a bit, and I'm not saying it's just you or insinuating you are acting like this, I must say though some of the stuff I've read makes it seem like the hamilton fans believe he "deserved a chance" almost like more than the rest, but he still had his chance...for the 11 minutes before the incident, so I'm just not buying into the "pity party" I guess is what one might call it lol

LOL. Ive read some absolute rubbish on twitter over this. I certainly don' t feel Lewis was entitled to pole, but I think he would have had it without Nico's 'error'. Annoyed, but its done. Lewis now has to do the best he can.

Right…so minimal damage for Lewis on the WDC. The best scenario played out…get through Monaco without incident and on to the traditional circuits. Nico drove well considering where he started. Lewis was right there…right up until he got debri in the eye and Ricci handled himself well on the attack. All in all, a good day for everyone…or most. Still disappointed in Kimi. He was up early and running a good race in 3rd until the safety car then got roasted the rest of the way.

Such fun!

Marussia in the points, they will be stoked
Chilton hit Kimi during the first SC un lapping himself and that gave Kimi a puncture.

Didn't know why Kimi had a puncture, how pissed off would you be whilst running 3rd.

Really annoyed by that, cost Kimi at least P4 and probably P3 as the Ferrari power would have likely kept him ahead of Ricciardo. Actually suprised Chilton didnt get a penalty for that, maybe the stewards missed it?

Really happy for Bianchi and Marussia though - deserve some points as they have improved a lot this season and have shown they can match Sauber and occasionally one or two others in races this season!

Not much of a spectacle really.

Things are getting interesting over at Mercedes.

Lewis had a chance to win if he got into the pits ahead of Nico at the first SC.

Top effort by Bianchi - really happy for him and a really good pass to put him into the points.

A couple of positives for the Tifosi - 1) the performance of Kimi (at least up until his puncture) 2) Ferrari's fuel consumption looked to be, if not the best then close to the best.

A little sad that for this race it was easy to actually see the cars are slower. When am I going to see the talked about improvement in these cars to make them at least equal to last years in performance? .... taps foot.
