The sound we hear on tele isn't even the real sound because FOM can't transmit it properly.

Edit: Nico said the trumpet didn't work.

[spankyham]

I'm not feeling as negative about the sound as all team leaders agree it needs to be fixed. I'd rather them take their time and sort it out properly for next year.

I quite like the sound when their racing,
I think the worst part is the start, they sound like lawnmowers

The F1 website changed the engine sound last week.
Have a look.

Looking back at some predictions:

Mercedes - Hamilton vs Rosberg

Published on Mar 5, 2014

Peter Windsor and Rob Wilson analyse the Mercedes pairing of former world champion Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.

Will Hamilton be able to get the most out of his car given the intricacies and options now available to the drivers and the fuel limitations which may temper his raw pace? The new rules and limitations would seem to favour Rosberg, and in a season where planning and strategy during the race may pay huge dividends in the championship race, could this be the year Rosberg joins the list of champions?

[racechick]

Well , well, well, it seems Ferrari aren't the only ones courting Mr. Brawn. Toto is singing his praises and wants him back at Brackley after his little holiday. Come on Ross! This is your party!!

[What's Burning?]

He had enough confidence in the W05 to go on holiday and come back invigorated... just in time to hoist up their WCC trophy?

[racechick]

Mercedes have secured the services of Nico Rosberg for at least another year.

Monaco GP: Toto Wolff explains Rosberg's wild steering movements

Mercedes motorsport boss Toto Wolff insists there was nothing suspicious about Nico Rosberg's wild steering movements on the entry to Mirabeau during the controversial end to Monaco Grand Prix qualifying.

Rosberg was investigated after securing pole position to see if he had deliberately run off the track to bring out the yellow flags.

Although the race stewards ruled that he had done nothing wrong, questions were raised about his actions - and especially the strange steering inputs before he locked up and went down the escape road.

Felipe Massa was one driver who questioned how the incident looked from the on-board footage.

"The steering was a bit strange, but what can you do?" he explained.

"He made a mistake, but you cannot say he did it on purpose or not. He will say no forever."

Wolff has revealed that the team's telemetry data shows that Rosberg was simply trying to keep control of his car after braking too late for the corner.

"The car was unsettled," Wolff told AUTOSPORT after Rosberg was cleared of any wrong doing.

"We see it on the data that he was braking a bit later [into Mirabeau]. They both braked later in Turn 3 [Massenet) already, both the exact same amount of metres.

"They both braked later on each of the runs and this is what it was. It was just an unsettled car because he was braking later."

TEAM-MATE SUSPICIONS NORMAL

Although Mercedes is keen to play down the incident, Wolff says that suspicions expressed by Hamilton about Rosberg's actions can be explained by the intensity of the title fight.

"If you want to win a world championship, you have to be suspicious," he said.

"It is not going to be the last time it is going to get emotionally intense between the drivers. If you have a shot at the world championship that is clear."

Wolff is adamant, however, that the team can move on from the Monaco qualifying incident after Rosberg apologised to Hamilton.

"It is all discussed and it was a very tough narrow fight between the two of them," he said.

"We analysed the data and there is nothing else to be said."

It is natural that hamilton and his fans would continue to complain of wrongdoing by rosberg, especially when hamilton has beenoutperformedin both the qualifying session and the race

[geetface9]

To me it is no surprise that rosberg turned out to be the superior driver this weekend. Hamlton even had to go far as to complain over the radio of "something in my eye" to validate his lack of ability to surpass rosberg today

He wasn't outperformed in either.
Well done Mercedes on another brilliant one two. Next race, your fastest driver will show you how it's done properly.

Ah, that's right! Hamilton wasn't outperformed. It was something in his eye. My apologies.

You are really pissing me off now. Are you saying he didn't have something in his eye? Some people are just unbelievable.

[stonemonkey]

To all those complaining about the noise; are you happy now.....

It's nothing to do with sound, Nico demonstrated the effectiveness of the merc chaff dispenser today.
