I still think grosjean ruined a 2012 championship for Hamilton.

His team did far more damage than Grosjean. ( under fuelled at Spain, inferior strategies to Button, pitstop mayhem, two DNF's when in the lead, concentrating on getting button up to speed instead of pushing the boat out for the championship). Can't lay it at Grosjean's door. Grosjean also took out Alonso ( in that infamous race start) and Alonso finished the season higher than Lewis .

You could say 2010 was a lost title too. The lost 2nd place in Spain, the minor contact in Monza which unfortunately caused a retirement and another contact which damaged the suspension in Singapore.

2012 - Bahrain(bad pitstop, lost loads of places), Spain(fuel), Valencia(crashtor), Spa(Grosjean), Singapore(gearbox), Abu Dhabi(fuel pump), Brazil(racing incident but unlucky none the less).

McLaren gave him the car but nit the team. Whitmarsh was behind that. They were very un-McLaren like. If Ron was there, he could have been a 3 time world champion. Could say they :censored: his potential titles.

To be fair the 2010 championship was up in the air even in the last race. Alonso, Webber, Hamilton, Lewis and Vettel were all in it in Brazil. The only year that hurts was 2012, there, McLaren went awry, bad pits stops, bad strategies, bad support but a great car and they certainly managed to get Button out of his mid year doldrums. I guess the rationale is two middle of the road results are better than one great and one poor result.

Anyway, water under the bridge, Lewis made the decision to leave and go to Mercedes. That was the dumbest move any driver could ever make, or so many thought. :hehe:

Well. You said about one good one bad. McLaren looks at it like that. Could be because they want a constructors championship instead of a drivers one.

...The only year that hurts was 2012...

Yup, that's still a painful one to look back on.

McLaren started the year with the fastest car, and also ended the year with the fastest car. What happened in between was not amusing... :(

Saw this quote from Lewis during an interview with Suzi Perry, Eddie Jordan and DC:

"When you are under pressure, and you do not snap under pressure, that is when you know you have your stuff together. Pressure motivates me. Everyone has their breaking point but I have not found that."

Love it! :)

Lewis has really learned and matured over the recent difficult/lean years.

I hope he never gains enough maturity to learn "the finger". :hehe:
