So all is not necessarily well at Red Bull, not just for Sebastien but another key member of the team, Newey. When he doesn't emphatically deny something like this, given the opportunity twice, there could be something far more to it in his mind. The mystery is how much time is left on his current contract. Whatever it is, there may likely be a one year gardening leave and it will take yet another year before his car takes to the grid. At a minimum, there is a two year window to a 2017 Newey Ferrari. Hmmm…does Fernando have the patience to wait that long for a real shot at title #3 and then retire?

Don't write it off, just yet. I expected Barcelona to be customarily dreadful, but it wasn't. Monaco can produce decent events, and in recent years, I can immediately recall 2004 (Trulli's sole victory), 2008 (Hamilton's come back in the rain from a punctured tyre), 2010 (generally action-packed) and 2011 (Vettel, Alonso and Button all close at the front) all being particularly enjoyable.

So, there's hope, and we have a nice contest building at the sharp-end too.

Monaco is more about glamour and prestige than a true F1 race in my view; it's too processional, the only way to pass is via pit stops and drivers crashing out. If I were to skip a race this season, Monaco would be it!

I think that Mercedes will once again lock out the front row, probably Hamilton taking pole and that's where they will stay, I'm kinda mentally switched off to the championship this season like I did during the Red Bull dominance.

I was like that half way through the summer last year. That attitude started much earlier, this year!!

There's still plenty to watch for, even with the dominance of Mercedes. There is of course the battle between Dan and Seb and, after Spain I'm hoping that Kimi is finally coming to terms with the car so hopefully we can have some good racing between those guys. And of course the race between Lewis and Nico, although, TBH, I really think that Lewis definitely has the measure of Nico.

Even as a Hamilton fan, I'm getting a little bored of the Mercedes domination already. Hopefully another team can bring it to them, and make it a bit more of the unknown, when it comes to the winner.

Domination can be boring, yes, but what helps is when the drivers in the dominating team are close. It's going to be very tough for anyone to catch Merc this year, so all I hope for is that we get to enjoy a decent, recurring scrap between Lewis and Nico.

We've had that in Bahrain and Spain, and hopefully it will be repeated more often than not.
